The arguer claims that outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to one field of study is the necessary condition of the significant advances in the field. In my point of view, I believe that the knowledge and experience in other fields is obviously an important resource of significant advance, but the advances can result in the knowledge and experience in the field as well.
Firstly, economics has advanced significantly since mathematics and statistics were introduced into the field. With the introduction of mathematics into economics, mathematical economics was born and developed. The birth of econometrics is contributed to the application of Mathematics and Statistics in economics. Even now, many statisticians including Qiwei Yao, a famous professor of statistics in London School of Economics, and Fan Jianqing, a professor of statistics and mathematics in Princeton University, even said (and I paraphrase):” econometricians are the statisticians who are not statisticians”. Of course, econometrics is neither mathematics nor statistics. It has become an independent field. Economics seems closer to natural sciences than are the other social sciences can mainly be contributed to the developments of econometrics and mathematical economics.
Secondly, when law and economics interacted, law of economics came into being. Law of economics is a discipline in which people analyze the problems of law in the framework of economics. Until Coase, a famous economist and the founder of law of economics, began to teach in the school of law of University of Chicago, Law of economics commenced to boom. Suppose that no economists and jurists made efforts on it together, it is less likely, even impossible that law of economics can become an independent discipline.
Finally, however, there is no denying that the inner experience in one field can also lead to significant advances. Economics is also a case in point. It is well known that both of the “Marginal Revolution” and Keynes’s Revolution are significant advances in the development of economics. The “Marginal Revolution” whose founders are Jevons, Menger and Walras who are famous economists creates the analysis framework of microeconomics. Keynes’s Revolution means the emergency of macroeconomics, one of the most important branches of economics. Its founder and mainly representative economist is Keynes who had been a great economist before the publication of The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. The four economists all read and assimilated the former economists’ research and then made their own contribution to economics.
In sum, some significant advances result in the knowledge and experience from another or several other fields, while other significant advances are own to the discipline’s own knowledge and experience. Thus, it is necessary that we should maintain a balance between the inner knowledge and experience and the outer knowledge and experience.

个人觉得整篇的例子太多，有点喧宾夺主了，缺少基本的理论分析和必要的论证，如果能精简一部分例子，加上适当的论证，就好多了，具体意见参考附件
by the way, 真羡慕你能记住如此多的例子，我就是每次都是干巴巴的话，翻来覆去，没有合适的例子，:L
