The study of history places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten.

It is true that the famous few thought out the bright ideas, design the effective plans and lead the large majority to success, however, only these few great person themselves do not have enough power to achieve such success, they need the support of groups of people.

Admittedly, what hand down most are the events of the few great people, and they play an important role in the success. Great success may need greater wisdom, and greater courage than the majority of people, of course this determined that few person have the things above. If every great person is as common as the majority of people, there is no leader the success. For example, if a leader in a war has no talent, how to ask the soldiers to get victories in front of a group of enemy with good plans? Usually, if one part loses a war, the leader will be punished but not the soldiers who have the risk to lose their lives. Through this we can see the responsibility of the great person. Thus, the few great persons do be needed in a success.

Furthermore, a key character of these great people is that they have a talent to make people believe them, support them and devote for them. In retrospect, there are many people have great ideas, great courage, but they still fail to succeed because they lack the support of large amount of people. Great persons know how to win support of people, how to make them be willing to fight for the success. An effective way is to think for these groups of people and ask them to fight for themselves. For example, Martin Luther King, the leader of the Native America, successively let the Native America know that he thought heartily for them, and win great support. There were also many persons who fight for the right of Native America, but they did not succeed because of lacking enough support. Thus, it is the few great persons who can hold themselves and the majority together.

However, the groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten are necessary for many success leaded by the few great persons. Though these few individuals have valuable characters lacked by the majority, only these persons' power are too small, they may not have enough power to against their enemy. We can not imagine a war fight by the leader without any solider, we also can not imagine Martin Luther King could make the government to concede only by the speeches of himself. Thus, the groups of people do be needed in achieving success which calls for large power of the majority.

To sum up, although the few great individuals play an important role in the success, if they throw the power of the majority away, they become very weak.

     The speaker alleges that it is the groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten but not the famous few that made the most significant events and trends possible. However, after more consideration, I find this allegation to be specious. Although the general people served to be necessary in the events, sometimes it was the famous few who had sparked and led most of the events. On the other hand, it is also possible that the famous few control the whole occurrence all by him/herself in some other areas.

    In the first place, I agree that sometimes the general people are necessary to the process of significant events. They served as the basis without which the happening of such events were nearly impossible. For example, in the World War Two, it was only through the collective efforts of Confederation that we could broke down the Fascism whose power was strong enough to threaten any country in the World alone. It is undoubted that all the soldiers served as an entity to make the worldwide, thorough victory. In this case, the contribution of the general people could not be ignored.

    However, the famous few seems to more important compared with the general people in some fields like politics. Also take the same example mentioned above. In the World War Two, the famous leaders such as Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin were undoubtedly decisive to eventual victory. It was for their insights and determinations that make the Confederation go back to the right way time and time again. Consider Churchill for example. It was his inspiring speech---"never never gives up"---that aroused the British people's passionate heart after being raided by the Hitler's army. Therefore, we could not underscore the influence of famous few since they lead the events, at least to some extent.

    On the other hand, it could be also much different in areas like science. Firstly, sometimes the things could be well done all by the scientist him/herself, which might lead to breakthrough of one specific theory. For instance, the famous astronomer Copernicus disagreed with the leading theory dominated by religion at that time that the earth was the center of universe, because through his own observation and collected data, he found that if the Sun were assumed as the center, the phenomenon observed went well with the data. His method also started the new way of scientific research in the following times. Secondly, although there were cases that some theory was the result of many famous scientists and they were not famous FEW, they could not be defined as groups of people whose identities were forgotten. Each of them was a famous one.

In conclusion, the influence of famous few to the achievements of events was greater than the ordinary people who sometimes serve as the necessary part, though. The famous few might lead the event all by themselves.

恩，谈谈思路，我是支持famouse few 的，所以用两段，第一段说他们有自身的优点，第二段说他们能把人们团结起来，这是把famouse few 和the majority 联系起来，最后一段再提一下 the majority 是不能少的。这样写的缺点你大概讲讲好吗。

看了你的文章，感觉你的例子好多啊，许多时候我都想不出来。如果非要挑点毛病的话，就是倒数第二段的 Secondly的那个论点，好像和题目不搭嘎，可以删了，已经挺充分了。

其实是 平衡式的写法！
既然是支持famou few，我感决直接正面插手有点困难！因为后面无法展开了，只能对famous few的作用作出让布！
林外你把famous和majority联系起来后，虽然本意是支持few，却也侧面烘托了majority！有点beg the question了，把自己绕进去了！

恩，我也按照你的对比想了一下思路，觉得the majority 的缺点很难找啊，然后我又看了看你的文章，觉得你也是支持famouse few 的，先指出群众的重要性，然后再从两方面说了少数人的优点，感觉你的重点就是少数人了，但是也没有指出群众的缺点。不过有收获了。
