Will tourism soon become absolute as a result of the using of television and worldwide computer connections? While I agree that television and webs could provide us images of many places, the function of tourism are also very important.

Admittedly, the beautiful and numerous updated images and video records of scenes in famous places obviate us to travel to those places by ourselves, while at the same time supply us opportunities to appreciate attractive scenarios. Simply turn on the TV at any time, we could find the vivid introductions about the places we have been dreaming, the famous Pyramid in Egypt, the fantastic modern city New York, the freezing seashore in Hawaii. We are even regret that we have no time to digest all of them. Also, the television gives us chances to learn the cultures in other countries, which is a popular aim of tourism today. The cultures of places where we want to learn in tourism may be more comprehensive on the Internet, while we possible come back from that place without any mind of that culture.

However advantageous the 'tourism' on television and Internet seem to be, they have far more drawbacks in comparison with the tourism in reality. Although TV provides us the virtual tourism, could these programs satisfy us and give us pleasure either? It is true that the route of tourism on TV is totally controlled by the editor, therefore the scenes are all chose simply according his own perspective, while take little consideration of the audiences' favorites. The audiences could only follow the editor to appreciate the views that have been filtered by the editor. Suppose one program that I am watching is rife with the pictures of the strong tigers in Yellow National Park, while actually I prefer the various kinds of plants. Such virtual tourism only serves to thrust forcefully a mass of dislikes into the audiences and give them no pleasure at all. Instead, tourist present in places they like could view what they want to see without others' limitation.

Furthermore, the virtual tourism on TV and Internet also deprives us the chances to touch the real nature by ourselves and experience the culture in other countries, plus opportunities to take exercises which is beneficial to our health. Could we breathe the fresh air when we are watching the scene describing forest beside a peaceful lake after the rain, could we touch the real wall of Grande Gallery of the Louver in Paris, one famous cultural heritage, through the programs on TV, or could we run like a child happily on the broad prairie when guided by the editor on the Internet? Probably, the only aspect concerning tourism in the virtual tourism is the eye-satisfying. In contrast, the real tourism is much comprehensive in satisfying us.

While we human beings are social animals, it is incredible that if one person stay in front of TV and computer for long time without any talk with others. Actually, the virtual tourism has impeded us to communicate with others, which could bring psychological pressure to us more of less. In the real tourism we could share the same excitement when encountering the attractive rainbow in the park. We also could talk with local people about their customs when touring in Tibet, through which we could learn much more fresh things that may be excluded from the internet pages or TV programs. Communication in tourism not only brings us more knowledge of one place but also makes us psychologically healthy.

All in all, the virtual tourism on TV and computer only present one small piece from the real tourism, while a whole part of appreciation in real tourism functions to satisfy us with true pleasure and relaxation.
