Furthermore, last year's sales of books and magazines on personal health totaled more than $50 million, and purchases of home exercise equipment almost doubled. Investing now in a Power-Lift Gym franchise will guarantee a quick profit.'

In the brochure, by referring to the trend throughout the nation or other large number of cities, the author claims that investment in a new Power-Lift Gym (PLM) franchise will guarantee a quick profit. To better buttress the claim, the author also points out the good sale of private health books and home exercise equipment as evidence. The meticulous scrutiny of the argument, however, reveals that it is established on a series of unsubstantiated assumptions and misleading evidence, which render it not convincing as it stands.

To begin with, by citing the nationwide concern with weight loss and physical fitness and reputedly popularity among 500 locations, the author draws his or her conclusion that investing in a PLG franchise would be profitable on the assumption that local preference of citizens typifies the nationwide trend or the situation in those cities. The author, however, provides no reliable evidence to support the crucial assumption. In other words, if the local consumers do not pay as much attention in health as typical consumer in the nation, the profitability would be unwarranted. Moreover, the author's claim that investment in PLG franchise will be profitable is just established on a dubious premise--that is: the other franchises in mentioned 500 cities are well profitable. The premise, however, get no support from the author's description. If many franchises in operation are in the trouble of deficit, the author cannot claim confidently that the investment in local market would be profitable on the basis of generalization.

Furthermore, the misleading evidence about the sales of books and magazines on personal health is little indication to the profitability of the investment in PLG franchise. It is entirely possible that the buyers of such books and magazines are so engaged in work that can spare little time to go to gyms. Similarly, doubled purchase of home exercise equipment does not necessarily ensure the profitability of a new PLG franchise. Perhaps the buyers of such equipments will just exercise at home, if so, the purchase is a backfire rather than a sign of profitability as the author claims.

Last but not least, by claiming that the investment in a new PLG franchise will guarantee a quick profit, the author fails to preclude the possibility that there are certain competent competitors in local market. If so, even assuming exercise in gyms is popular among local residents, the profitability will be definitely threatened by the competition from other gyms, and it would be presumptuous for the author to claim that the investment will ensure a "quick" profit.  

In sum, the author fails to convince me that investment would be a good investment. To better support the claim, she or he should provide evidence that the other franchises in operation are well profitable and the preference of local residents typifies the trend throughout the nation. To better evaluate the argument, it would be also necessary to know the direct opinion about the exercise in gyms of local residents.

其实argu地结尾并不重要，本来就是鸡肋吧，你想呀，argu就是挑逻辑错误，逻辑错误条完了就完成任务了，开头和结尾本来就没什么太大作用，一笔代过不知道是不是可以，
