Far from being….., Pat was always…..to appear acquiescent.
A. unctuous...loath
D. obsequious…eager
E. gregarious…willing

A 后两个好像讲得更通啊。

far from being 说明分隔前后是反义，
1st空=acquiescent，then 2nd 空负动作
1st空><acquiescent，then 2nd 空正动作

D就错在是同义了:mad:
E我也选错了，看来是词义理解有误
acquiescent：willing to carry out the orders or wishes of another without protest
有compliant 的意思
gregarious 是有social 的意思，二者没有明显的反义关系

m-w：
cloture: the closing or limitation of debate in a legislative body especially by calling for a vote
roll call: the act or an instance of calling off a list of names (as for checking attendance)
我觉得是先后顺序吧

和.unctuous正相反，P总是不情愿显顺从？？？

这是老罗给的填空解释！

解题

关键词far from显示这道题又是一道简单的对比关系题目，前后找一对截然相反的态度就可以了，但是由于后面的to appear acquiescent之前又设置了一个空格，所以需要前后两个空格联系起来判断:如果第一空格填与acquiescent相反的意思，则第二空格就要填一个肯定的词，反之亦然。不过这道题真正的难度在于选词，unctuous表示（以一种明显是虚情假意的方式显示出）过分殷勤的、过分热心的，unctuous的态度客观上表现为一种令人反感的奴才相，即极度的acquiescent。

译文

帕特远不是表现得虚情假意的谄媚殷勤，而是一直不愿意显得顺从。
