Cultural traditions are a nation's treasures and prides. As a result, governments need to devote financial supports to cultural traditions. However, I strongly disagree with the speaker from two aspects: (1)a nation's cultural traditions are preserved and originated in small towns and rural regions rather than major cities; (2)governments should support major cities, but not because that they are the cradle of cultural tradition, but because that large cities are representations of a nation.

Firstly, a nation's cultural traditions are mostly generated from small towns and rural regions. Since small towns and rural regions have a quiet circumstance and people dwelled there are living a simple life, it is easy to kindle creative inspirations as to cultural traditions--its folk art, crafts, traditional songs, customs and ceremonies. Also, majority folk artists birth in small towns and rural regions by the reason that people live there do not disturbed and lured by the outside world, instead concentrate on one thing they interested in.

Secondly, a nation's cultural traditions are preserved better in small towns and rural regions than in major cities. Because small towns and rural regions are most far from economy center, and not easy to be impacted by the outside world, in these way they can well hand down their own tradition. On the contrary, large cities in most countries are under an atmosphere of globalization, in other words, they meet the cultural shock now. Large cities like multicultural stew pots and different cultural traditions are mixed together. Have a look at major international cities, such as New York, Tokyo, Beijing, cross-culture is everywhere and special cultural tradition nearly could be found nowhere. Therefore, cultural tradition is preserved better in small towns and rural regions. For well protect cultural tradition and prevent cultural diminishing, governments should ensure financial support to the small towns and rural regions.

Finally, the government have the responsibility to give major cities the financial support not because a nation's cultural traditions are generated and preserved in major cities, but because major cities almost represent the visualize of the country. Large cities are the center of politics, culture, economy. Majority large companies and banks, which are the strong support of a nation's economy, are set in the large cities; Institutions and government agencies, which are vital official places of governors and politicians, are located in the large cities; What's more, the major cities often have the largest population in a country. So, whether large cities thrive or not effect a nation greatly. The large cities' prosperity can lead the whole nation to a higher level. It will be a wise behave that government give large cities financial support they need in order to thrive.

To sum up, I do not believe major cities can well preserve and generate cultural tradition, instead, small towns and rural regions seems more likely to originate cultural traditions. To protect cultural tradition, government should put financial support to small towns and rural regions. Also, government should also give financial support to major cities in order to thrive.

把保存很产生分开来看不太好,其实题目的意思就保存和产生是一起的,是一方面

题目有两个方面,政府投资城市,和城市保存产生文化
