issue185 Scandals--whether in politics, academia, or other areas--can be useful. The focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.

summery:
1. -: scandals did not really focus attention on problems
      1) exaggerate by media
      2) satisfy the special psychological needs of people
2. -: scandals is not very useful
       little influence the famous
3. +: scandals as a product from the development of society, may supervise people

感觉写的有点烂........丑闻的问题还真不好说
大家有什么好的思路,提纲都讨论讨论啊~~~

Scandals expose the secret event or life of people, especially the famous, in politics, academia, and other areas, resulting negative influence on both of these people themselves and the entire society. However, while it comes to a scrutiny of the chracteristics of the scandals, the inhernt complexity as well as speculation inside may obstruct which to have a large-scale influence and attract little attention of people on the problems, yet, they may still play a role to supervise people.

Scandals, spread in an unformal way compared to lectures of a speaker or reformer, are not intend to focus social attention on problmes. Firstly, the most influencial way scandals impart thanks to efforts of the world-wide media, whose reliability would stronly be questioned. That is, some reporters would exaggerate the facts or even fabricate scandals in order to increse the selling of (periods). In this case, scandals as a money producer would conduct to the focus on the business profits rather than social problems. Secondly, people would willing to talk about the scandals either for entertainment or for the satisfication of their infierer psychlogical needs. That is, they would gloat one famous people to be hectored rather than think of the meanings of scandals. Take Bill Clinton's sexial scandals in 1998 for example, a large amount of people are interested in uncover the relationship between Clinton and Lewinsky while few analyze the problmes generated.

Furthermore, the scandals should not be considered as much useful due to most of which yield little impact on the famous people. Many people deprecate the scandals aound them because they find those slanders are too insignificant to influence their popularity while compared to the exinguish skills of them. For example, Diego Maradona, a famous football player in (Agentina) would be admired by lots of people all over the world, although he was accused of taking drugs. And this scandal effect little to Maradona while his excellent football-playing skills are already rooted in people's mind. Besides, many famous people have the same experience as Maradona: from boxing champion Mike Tyson to NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, from Marlon Brando to Brintney Spears, all of them are still popular while entangled by diverse scandals. As a conclusion, when slanders would play little important role to influence the famous people, they are less likely to focus attention on problmes.

However, scandals as a product during the development of the society, would have some efforts to supervise people of various fields, such as politics, academics and other areas, and to some extent focus attention of problems. The most unique characteristic of slander is its widely spreaded: every people could talk about and deliver. As the society is made up of people, the scandals could help to supervise from each other to prevent being notorious. Compared to the speakers or reformers, scandals would be more widely known and influence a large-scale. Thus, political leaders would always cultivate themselves and scholars have less oppotunity to plagiarize in order to prevent scandals, which in this case focus some attention on problems in society.

In sum, although scandals may play as helping supervise people from each other, they spread in an unformal way, and would neither likely to impact much on poeple nor society, thus they may not make people pay much attention on problmes.
