"While some leaders in government, sports, industry, and other areas attribute their success to a well-developed sense of competition, a society can better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation."

What is the most important character which young should have before bearing the leadership? Here are two alternatives, competition and cooperation. Some leaders intend to confer their success to well-developed sense of competition which steers them to obtain brilliant achievements. However, these leaders overstate a more rudimental key quality which results in their success, cooperation. As we all know, in our modern society, individual can not survival alone, neither can a leader make one’s success apart. Therefore, A society should better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation.

The first reason is that, for as long as people have been living together in groups, cooperation has been necessary to the group's well-being, and indispensable to individual’s quality. Sharing efforts by individuals, cooperation as a factor, prompts our society to make out civilization. For example, in the course of evolution, our ancestors win over animals and attain primacy through capacity of cooperation. Even In present society, in fact, It is unbelievable that a fancy product or intricate machine could be worked out without cooperation. Obviously, Without cooperation, our society would step into a stasis, and people would be involved with disorder. Just as software being complied under a cooperative team with arrangement of different pieces, our society, as well, should consist of individuals, especially young people, feature with trait of cooperation in heart. As a result, the most effective leadership prefers cooperation to success instead of competition. A team without a leader would be in disorder, and a team with a leader who suffers from cooperative intention would never develop self aim in action. A successful leader should be able to cooperate and own team’s success on members’ well-being.

On the other hand, just as an old saying says that, a soldier is not a good one, if he does not want to be a general, in some extent, competition is an essential requirement which leads to a person’s peak under cooperation. Every individual in success, such as sport starts, movie stars, CEOs of big company, and all able persons within their field, intend to be best with ambitious aim. Competition plays an important role in the development of our society. No competition, our society will be depraved of vigor and ascending force.

Here comes to a point, both competition and cooperation has their merits. Preparing for young people in possession of leadership, neither cooperation nor competition should be neglected. Keeping harmony by mutual reinforce with leadership, perhaps is the most effective way to feature young people in future success.
