UTD的,本来4月份就发出来了,可是不知为什么退回去了,到前天才用email给我发了个copy,要是早知道是学院出钱的话可以找一个更match的professor,不过现在已经commit了,sigh!
建议大家在等的时候还是要经常骚扰一下小秘问问状态,很多学校只发信件通知,不用email.
附背景:
G: 510/800/4.0;T: 623;国内211普通院校小硕;读书时发了4篇文章,2篇国际会议,1篇国内杂志,1篇国内会议,其中3篇英文.3年500强美资外企工作经历,software engineer,本科时候拿过2次全国数模竞赛赛区1等,一次省物理竞赛1等.
GPA: 87/100(本), 90/100(硕).
总共申了12个, Rej:  3; AD: 6;Pending: 2; Offer: 1. 另外还有一个排名更后的学校教授来套.
总的体会,申完以后没有感觉,拒我的也不知道什么原因,给我的offer的也不知道为什么.也许运气才是最重要的.
在职申请比较辛苦,年初的时候腿还骨折了,现在还躺在床上,不过总算有点回报了. 不知道撑着拐杖去签证是不是不利因素.
同去这个学校的朋友可以给我发站内消息.也祝各位EE同仁早日圆梦.

Dear ***,

Congratulations!  You have been selected to receive a Jonsson School Distinguished Assistantship for your graduate studies starting with our fall semester in 2006.  This merit-based award is offered to very few students for this year’s entering graduate class.

The award provides a research assistantship with a $2,100 per month stipend.  The Assistantships are defined as 50% full-time equivalent appointments and entail duties approximately 20 hours per week.  This award will be renewable for the following year subject to your satisfactory performance, progress during your first year, maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA  and abiding by the degree requirements of your department.

The Jonsson School Assistantship also carries with it a UTD Graduate Studies Scholarship.  The scholarship will cover the full costs of tuition and fees for 9 semester credit hours per semester of enrollment for fall 2006 and spring 2007 semesters and 6 scheduled hours in summer2007.  This scholarship is also renewable for the following academic year subject to your satisfactory performance, progress during your first year, a 3.5 GPA and abiding by the degree requirements of your department.

In summary, the combination of these two awards provides:

1.  A total stipend of $2,100 per month for twelve months.
2.  Full tuition and fees for 9 semester credit hours per semester for fall 2006 and spring 2007 (6 scheduled hours during the summer 07).
3. Renewability for the next year, subject to your satisfactory performance, 3.5 GPA and progress during the first year.
4. Must be full time student – 9 semester credit hours fall and spring and 6 during summer.
