In what way that education will be truly effective? Some suggest that it should be designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, while I disagree with the opinion. I believe that though personal need and interest will be helpful and important in an effective education, it is unnecessary to contribute to the effectiveness of education, besides many other skills and knowledge should be taken into account to develop students personality and social capacity.

. As a threshold matter, admittedly interest is instructive and important in education and education designed to meet the individual needs and interests will be effective. Since it is the matter of fact that people are more likely to focus on and accept the knowledge that they are interested in, thus, education will be certainly effective for student intend to learn. Otherwise, to force a child to follow what they are dislike usually leads to a definite struggle against education in the sphere, which the examples are not rare that a child absents class that he/she is sent by their parents while his/her own interest is ignored. Therefore, the individual needs and interests of students is important in an effective education

However, though the advantages of education meet the personal need and interest, the specifically designed education is not surely to be effective, for the ever-changing interests of student and the lack of teacher. For one hand, students' interests and needs may alter from time to time, and some are even very short-term, which make education correspond, and the short-time education are usually ineffective for the lack of completely development of personal skill. For the other hand, the interests and needs of student are various thus sorts of teachers are in demand to meet each of them, which is unfeasible in practice and influences the quality of teaching for the lack of teachers and experience thus the effectiveness of education. In summary, education designed to meet individual needs and interests of each student is less likely to be effective.

However, the purpose of education is to develop student's full personality and their competent in society, thus a truly effective education should concern other factors, such as the basic knowledge of nature, the skills of social communication and the ability to recognize, besides the individual needs and interests. A normal person, inevitably has to develop his/her skill to survive and participate in social affairs, resulting in requirement of capacity of skill for bread and salt and basic common sense. For example, the responsibility to obey laws and ability to handle a language. Though the famous painter Van Gogh is a genius in art and his work is valuable, his poor skills in surviving and communicating made him leave an unhappy live and dead young. As a result, the basic skills in social living are required in a truly effective education besides the individual needs and interests.


To sum up, according to what had been discussed, a conclusion could be drawn safely that though individual needs and interests are significant in an effective education, the specifically designed education is unlikely to be truly effective, and to achieve the purpose of education that develop student's full personality and social skills, comprehensive capacity are required besides the needs and interest of individual. Thus, a truly effective education should be well designed to be advantageous to the full improvement of personality and social skills of every student.
