The attitudes of study are a controversial problem that many people just as the speaker claim that students should suspect all subjects whatever they studied. However, in my opinion, proper skepticism is helpful in many areas but passive acceptance of the teacher’s words is also very efficient.

Skepticism may be the main pusher of the progress of the society. The developments of a society depend on the recognizing of the world and human beings themselves. Acquaintance of them is the process of study. Skepticism is very helpful of challenging the original sense of the world for a new way which is the first step of creation and innovation. It is also a necessary process for students to review the defects of their studies. Many break through progress of the science, economics, politics, arts, and so on are lead to the skepticism traditions.

Admittedly, undue skepticism might be counterproductive in educating young children. First, undue skepticism wastes lots of time on unnecessary research of the principals accepted by everyone. For example, when the teacher told us there is only one straightline through two points in one plane. We should never suspect this principal, because it is too common in our everyday lives. Second, we should value the fruits of senior of such field. Some work accumulates massive money, time, energy, etc. we should believe these cost of the senior’s efforts. Study is not a matter only related to one person. Cooperation plays a very essential roll in many fields; believable of others is one of the most important qualities of a good learner. Third, it is impossible to study from the beginning for everyone. If students have to suspect every principal they involved, it means that knowledge should be acquired begin with the most elementary status. The speed of the development of the society would be lower and lower.

Whether the students should bring a certain skepticism is decided by thespecific of the subject. The aim of study is in two aspects: practice and research. If the training of such work practical, students should absorb the experiences of the predecessor and examine the truth in the practice after learning. If the final goal of study is researching, proper skepticism maybe useful to look forward of the given success and make more creations.

In sum, students have to choose the most efficient way to study which is based on the characters of the subjects and the students’ habits. There is no asserts that whether skepticism or passive acceptance is more benefit.
