With the advancement of media technology, the author considers that admiring to any woman or man as a hero is no longer possible. Admittedly, to a celebrity, due to the media there always something people criticize and consequently the privacy to keep their reputation is a dream cannot come true. However in my point of view, public need the hero in their minds though the hero has his or her foibles.

In any time, hero is indispensible for the formation of the spirit and belief in a society. And the definition as a hero may range from artist to scientist to politician. However, no matter what kind of heroes, they are the idols who can inspire and motive others to some extent. Just due to the worship to his hero as well as his uncle Theodore Roosevelt, one of the presidents in the history of America, Franklin Roosevelt become the president and even a more distinguished one than his uncle. Also, the exploration to other plants, especially to the moon, makes the astronomists(astronauts) as heroes to vast majority of young people in 1960s. It is the influence of these heroes that astronomy thrived since the video and news that exploration to the moon spread. And until now each year many young people choose the astronomy as their majors. Without doubt hero's strength which cannot be replaced by the strength of speech or other kind of behaviors propels the development of the society.

It is true that the intensive media reveals more detail about the hero that may decrease his or her mystery to public and even leave some negative impression to the followers. However, we cannot totally deny the contribution of a hero due to the trifles and other defects as ordinary people. We cannot stop our respect to the astronauts for the reason that he drinks as the media says. Exposure of their daily life to the public about heroes better shows they are also the ordinary people close to us.

In addition, the media plays a significant to supervise the hero and propel the hero keep the positive image to public. Michael Phelps, who won eight gold medals in the Olympic Game in 2008 is a case in point。Due to the perfect performance in swimming, he became the hero in many people's minds. Albeit latest news published the picture he smoked marijuana and revealed he was a drugger, quickly he admitted his actions and promised that this kind of behavior would no longer happen. Though people may not satisfied with his drug behavior, he is still the hero after the sincere apology to public. The media not only saved the hero who had the wrong behaviors but also warned the people preventing from wrongdoings like drug.

All in all, hero is a significant factor to the progress of society. Media can ruin a hero as well as motive the hero. Only using the media properly, a hero's positive spirit can affect vast majority of people and contribute to the progress of the society..
