The author asserts that the destiny of our society depends on how the children are socialized but we have not find how to raise children to contribute to a better society. I partly agree on the first assertion of the author while entirely disagree with his latter one. The correlation of children's socialization and the better society is a complex issue--one involves the accurate definition of socialization and the very notion of better society.

The socialization of children, in my view, has been one of the most crucial determinants of the future of society, though it is not the only decisive factor. The socialization is generally defined as to teach children the survival skills, communicating skills, and to cultivate them their own culture and mores and social disciplines. It is considered as the primary goal of today's education. The socialization essentially determines how we think, what we consider is right or wrong, and how we act. More and more countries have place much emphasis on education today in order to provide better children's socialization, since people's economic or political activities do have a considerable effect on the direction of the society's progress. Few can dispute that a society in which the people are poor in own culture, basic knowledge, or common recognition of technology can make any progress in current competing world.

Though some people may argue that children's socialization is not so necessary for society's future, considering that there were some famous heroes in history made a remarkable contribution to society even though they grew up with a miserable childhood in which fulfilled with aloofness and odd manners. However, our society's destiny can not and truly doesn’t depend on such outstanding heroes that are so limited in number. It is, in fact, the lager mass as a whole that in charge of the direction of our future.

However, we shouldn't blindly rely on the socialization of children ignoring other important factors in educating them. The skills included in socialization alone can not make one successful. One must learn how to react to others and the world respectful, and how to be responsible to the social obligations, that is how to be a tolerant and respectful person.

Consider the next assertion of the author. The general definition of a better society is one in which more education and work opportunities are offered, more respects to human rights are paid, more useful technologies are introduced, and better environment is preserved. In fact, we are being enjoying a better society attributable to the well-educated, skillful and ingenious young people. People today have learned much more knowledge and developed more fully compared to those in the past. With the skills and knowledge they have acquired and bearing in mind the moral regulations and just laws, they are capable to better serve the society by providing us vast information, various education resources, trustworthy government, and reliable products and service. In short, the well-learned young people today have helped enhance our quality of life and accumulate common wealth, and eventually brought about a better society.

In sum, well-socialized young people are an insurance of a bright future of our society and a better life, though they are not the only decisive factor, and they have promoted our society to a better one. Thus, certain emphasis should be put on how to better socializing children.
