In the summary, the author recommend the Salicylates to be the medicine used to treat headaches in the Mentia. However, I think there are some bugs on his or her logic chain about his conclusion and proofs.

Initially, the author misunderstand the correlation between the commercial use of salicylates and the steady decline in the average number of headaches, since the conductor of the study never shows the what kind of relationship between them. The author assumes that the commercial use of S as a preservative causes the decline in the number of headaches. However, the author disguise the replacement of the concept “ correlation”. Maybe these two facts just parallel with each other and have nothing to do with the causal-relationship.

Additionally, If the author wants to regard the study as the cogent proof to appeal us, he or she should show more details about the study: the range of the people who suffered from the headaches, are they have the same situation that their headaches were caused by the same factors? How old when they participated in this study? If they joined the study when they were old enough, maybe the data of the study is not so clear since the old has more possibility than the young to get the headache, physically and emotionally. And the author do not tell us if those who joined in the study never took the regular medicine which can cure the headaches or not.

Finally, granted that the correlation between the commercial use of S and the declines of the headaches is warranted, the author cannot concludes that the new use of S as flavor additives for foods also can make the decrease of the number of headaches suffered by the citizen of Mentia. Perhaps the citizens who suffered from the headaches do not notice the food which has been added the S as the flavor additives, maybe the citizens are not the potential buyers of such foods just as the author assumes. And perhaps after adding the flavor additives to the foods, the foods flavors would become very weird that nobody wants to taste. Moreover, the (时间到了。。。) new use of the S as the flavor addictive has not been prove out that it actually has the effect on the treatment of the headache, the recent study shows nothing but the usage of addictive which is, from our common sense, maybe harmful to human bodies.

In sum, in order to successfully recommend this medicine to the town, the author should figure out the specific relationship between those two phenomenon and provide more information about the procedure of the study.
