Some movies are serious, designed to make the audience think. Other movies
are designed primarily to amuse and entertain. Which type of movie do you
prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer(03/23/07).

Some people like moves that are serious and they can think something after seeing the movies. However, other people prefer to see the ones that are made to amuse people. As far as I'm concerned, although serious movies have some merits, I prefer the entertaining ones.

Admittedly, serious movies can make people think about the world and become more concerned of life and the surroundings we live in. Take the movie "slumdog" as an example, in the movie, we can see the life of Indians in the slums, after we have seen this movie, we will unavoidably appreciate our life and the environment we live in more. Thus, it's not hard to see that serious movies are important in our life. However, amusing movies are more important, in my opinion, for the following reasons.

Firstly, the life of people is already full of unhappy things, so movies that are created to entertain people are of significance. As is known to us all, lots of people in the society will have to face some sad things, such as a failure in an exam, or a selection. Therefore, people need a passport to make them forget the sorrows for a while, and entertaining movies can provide such a passport for those unhappy people. Thus, we can see that entertaining movies are important in our life.

Secondly, compared with the serious movies, entertaining movies have a more wide range of audience because not all the people like the serious movies. Nevertheless, people will not refuse the entertaining movies, because to be happy is pursued by every individual. Therefore, we can see entertaining movies with our friend, and improve our friendship without worrying about whether he/she will like the subject of the movie or not. Thus, entertaining movies are more popular.

Taking into consideration of what have been discussed above, we can draw the conclusion that entertaining movies are more important than serious ones.

总体感觉不错,文章流畅,语法错误不多,只是个人认为第二段的内容没有必要写,更多的时间可以写支持entertaining movie的第三个理由上,这样主题性更强一些.
