Maybe someone holds the viewpoint that teacher should be paid according to their students' performs. But in my opinion, I hold the opposite viewpoint. There are many reasons to demonstrate it.
Firstly, students have different ideas, and it is their own decision about whether they should study hard. The teacher is just an auxiliary position in the students' own development, who cannot force their students to do the reluctant thing. For instance, teachers when teaching the undergraduate courses might have a large number of students. It is too hard for the teachers to let everyone in the class achieve their goals but they will try their best. Also for example, students having the same tutor may have different performs. Therefore it is not fair to judge which teacher is good and which is not.
Secondly, different students have different abilities. The innate differences may influence their future performs in their academic development, but is not decisive. And it is also unjust for their teachers. From my standpoint, the judgment on the teachers should be whether the teachers have tried their best to help their students and whether their students have got some significant improvement compared with their past performs. It can be said that they are excellent teachers to help their students in their lives.
Last but not the least one is that we should assess the teachers through students’ several different aspects of performs not just the academic performs. Teachers’ performs in academic and behavior aspects will help students even some words. For example, my tutor always goes to school at 8 o’clock around and serious about every project he does even a tiny problem. Just about these performs have influenced me profoundly. Any aspect of your improvement is critical to your future development.
As a student, I will do my best even as a common student. And I will also never forget the help from teachers who have taught me. These are two the best important aspects for me in my growth.
