ISSUE94 - "Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."
I fundamentally agree with proposition that students should take a variety of causes outside their field to become truly educated. A significant extent the kind education students receive in university determines what kind of person they will be.
The primary reason why I agree with the proposition is that various disciplines are related(interdependent?). The study of(去掉) outside a student's own field may benefit the study of their(his) major field. As we know, every subject does not exist independently. The(Nomatter the) relate(relation) to other subject (is) objective or inner. For instance, philosophy is the foundation of all subjects. Using philosophy well, we can learn our field much easier and more comprehensive(ly). A case is point relates to Louis Victor de Brolie who brought forward the "De Brolie Wave". Before he devoting in the field of physics, he was in the field of history. After he used historical methods to research(solve) the physical problem, he did a deeply contribution in(to) physics. In the same way, graduates can benefit from different fields to acquaint(这是使了解 可用grasp) their own field completely.
For another reason I consent the point, universities can re-recognize where they are interested in through acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines. Not every person exactly knows which professional fields they are interested in at the beginning of their college life. It would be a good opportunity for them to choose a discipline if universities gave another chance. Interest is the best motion to(of?) hardworking, such as the nature(biological是否更准确?) to Darwin and the computer technology to Bill Gates. Because of(that) the interesting of their field lead(led to?) their success.
But every thing has two-side(s). If students put their major energy in too much(many) fields, the energy distribute(s) to their major discipline will decrease. It may lead to a negative result that neither the student's (can grasp nither) major nor other fields can grasp(去掉). To avoid this situation happen, students should keep the balance between the width and depth of both fields inside and outside.
In the final analysis, students should strive to excel in their major disciplines of study. However, they also should acquire knowledge of various academic disciplines which are outside their field. With this, students will acquaint the knowledge comprehensively, not only in their field. This is the meaning of truly education.
