2,的确,对平常人平常环境来说,很多选择。
3,但是,特殊身分特殊使命的人,很多时候不能选择。
4,另外,特殊环境和特殊时期的人不能选择。

Our contemporary is totally different from what it used to be. With the flexible notion and lifestyle, in many cases, people have the opportunities to make a choice in lots of ways to achieve their goals in their daily life. However, with the suspicious attitude towards this assertion that the absence of choices is a very rare circumstance, I hold the point of view that having choices or not strongly depend on the identities, surroundings and other limitations of a person.
As ordinary people who live in the everyday life, undoubtedly, we continually make choices and decisions just following our will.(这里要不直接强调we have many options to choose from) Making choice can be interpreted as a mental process of thinking involved with the process of judging the merits of multiple options and selecting one of them for action.(如果不擅长写长句子,宁可把他们变成好的短句,免得ETS的人扣分) Simply put, making choice is to seek the maximum interest. Here the interest includes all the recognized values in our personal evaluating of material side, emotional side, evaluating measures, the life way we want to lead, and so forth. (后面的并列太长了…而且并列得不够对称)We can choose a major which attracts us to learn, we can choose a route for a journey which sounds most exciting than those provided by travel agency, and we can also choose a job which can satisfy ourselves with the balance of psychological joviality and pragmatic need. Basically, as can be seen obviously, these choices are on the premise of ordinary people and ordinary life. (这句的表述有问题,应该是基于一个人是普通人或者过着普通的生活,而不是急于普通人或者普通的生活)
However, people with special identities, positions, or trained with particular responsibilities to some extent fail to have choices, especially when their demands are against what their identities desire them to do. First, from the identity limitation, the "honored" people in some perspective have to sacrifice their chances for the "mission" which their identities automatically mean. In ancient China, or even the contemporary Middle East countries, girls in Emperor families have been often assigned to a political marriage by political leaders, often as their parents or relatives, for the exchanging value of the political reasons, such as a ceasefire of a war, a policy for friendly diplomacy or even a promise for never invading. Also, particular responsibilities require the people with them to play the role what they have been expected to play. Many soldiers devote themselves but without choices to give up on the way to kill people in another nation, to occupy the territory of another country, and thus to accomplish the orders given out by their leaders give out. The famous book written for the Vietnam War has indicated the ignorance of war from the young American soldiers. They were just educated on how to use the so-called advanced weapons, but did they feel fear for the war? Did they have the choice to drop down their firearms? Did they have the choices to leave the land with fire and go back to their home countries at the moment of the war to get together with their parents? The answer is NO. All in all, in these sorts of cases that people have been signified with identities to fight, to sacrifice, or even to die, choice, has become a difficult action to take.
Furthermore, people's chances can be limited by their particular surroundings as well as the particular moments they are in. Surroundings, or environments, can directly influence the people's life and chances to choice inside. For example, in many Africa countries of poverty and famine, the children have no choices to be educated with the knowledge to explore the outside world. In many advertising posts for seeking donations and help towards these children, we can see the keen desire for education inside of the eyes of these poor kids. With the shadow as same as in many other social problems, people's choices have been limited and cannot be changed in a short term with the bad economy conditions and non-development physical environment. Temporal reasons can also contribute to the limitation of choices of people. Young people lower than 18 years old don't have the rights to vote, old people don't have the choices to be employed for some positions. (这句例子有点问题,听上去有点怪,老年人毫无选择?这个题目的中点在于,很多时候我们面对问题时往往有很多选择,取反的话就是“我们在面对很多问题时没得选”)Though these limitations are for the sake of better responsibilities, it can also indicate that due to legislations and rules, choices have been ensured to lead to virtuous and positive directions. Hence, not all the choices are available if we account the special surroundings and moments into consideration, which not only reminds people with the duty to ameliorate the bad environments for who also live on this planet, but also utilize these duties inside the scope of rules and legislations.
In conclusion, within the perspective which is for ordinary people in ordinary environment, the choices are everywhere. (the choices 不可以做 within the perspectives的主语)People can work hard for their dreams to get a brighter future and to enrich their lives as much as they can, on the basis not to harm others. However, with the appreciation about the flexibility to choose, human being, as a whole should also consider about their congener who are suffering from the lack of choices. No matter to be more democracy, or to stop the wars, or to solve social problems, there are always actions we can take to better the current situation. (结尾最后一句画蛇添足,和主题不相关)
TOPIC: ISSUE70 - "In any profession-business, politics, education, government-those in power should step down after five years. The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership."
The current Honduran president Manuel Zelaya has provoked the new round of attention from the whole world about tenure issue of leaders recently. Should any leaders step down after a specific? (什么意思阿是不是没写完) from in their positions? Is the revitalization through new leadership the surest path to the success for any enterprise? With partially agreement on the speaker's assertion, I also prefer to represent that it is not extremely necessary to change a leader for any (这个词用得有点绝对了)profession with certain duration, and there are also other ways can also succeed an enterprise besides the revitalization of new leadership.
To begin with, it is widely believed that such revitalization of leadership does exert positive influence on the whole operation in many professions. In retrospect, majority of leaders who stay in power for a long time are likely to perform less efficiency or even involve in illicit affairs. For one thing, taking political realm as example, the possibility of long-term leadership to some extent can destroy the democracy and gradually lead to the abusing of power. Considering that many governors who stay for several decades or even perpetually in their positions, without pressure to be reelected out of the leadership, they can gradually perform their unlimited power for their individual interest or even worse. The Korean leader JinZhengri(请用国际惯用的拼写而不是拼音), who has been blamed as the top 3 of the dictators in the world, was reported many times to accumulate private wealth in his more than 30 years’ tenure. As mentioned above, Manuel Zelaya was also trying to create his time for the monocracy with a changed policy. For another, in most of developed countries, the presidents traditionally are refreshed in every five year, and this policy effectively avoids the grafts, corruption, and thus establishes a democracy environment. Apparently, such short-term tenure serves effectual purposes in the efficiency of their government, which guarantees the continuous effectiveness of the administration.
Beyond the concession, however, I can’t totally agree with the assertion because it seems to overlook the long-term tenure would also possess its own benefits. As a matter of fact, leaders who have been in charge of certain activities for a long time must already have been sufficiently experienced with the positions they are in and hold an established credit as the symbol of the organization. On the one hand, long-term tenure would provide valuable experience for those leaders. And as experienced leaders, they would surely hold plenty of advantages in management and more familiar with those responsibilities than new candidates. For example, Jack Welch, an excellent CEO who dominated GE for more than twenty years, developed his company from a small corporation into the largest international company in the world. Obviously, his experience from long-term leadership certainly promotes his superior feats. On the other hand, long-term tenure would also offer profitable reputation for an organization. In most of business companies, good sales managers equally account to the affirmed credits for this company, which can give confidence to the customers and benefit the enterprises. Same rule works for academic area. Good professors especially the leader professor for specific academic subject basically represent the fame of this department of this university. With many years of experience of research, the faculty leaders can develop a strong research team and win the reputation and fame with their research strength. Apparently, the long-term tenure in some areas also can benefit the development of this profession, with priceless experience and accumulation of credit.
Finally, perhaps most importantly, it is also dedicated that there are still many other paths to success besides such revitalization. In the first place, the overall administration system must be emphasized to ensure high efficiency of masses. Rather than changing a handful of leaders, such entire improvement in regulation might be even more effective for the continuous development of companies, nations, colleges and the forth. Considering that no matter who governs those police states, its government must rarely become democratic, and the national management would be hardly improved for a long time. Secondly, certain leaders who are especially talented or superlative should be entitled for a longer tenure. Bill Gates is just a case in point. As the richest person in the world, Bill Gates managed Microsoft for more than thirty years, whilst such company developed stably and eventually turn to be the most significant corporation in the realm of software. Indubitably, such a wonderful CEO had better stay for far more than five years and make huge amounts of contributions for the company constantly. Hence, rather than the surest path to success in every profession, many other policies must be taken into consideration.
To sum up, I concede that such revitalization does eliminate certain delinquency and illicit affair, while long-term leadership would also provide some benefits for the management. In fact, we should reconsider the leadership more cautiously and modestly, rather than adhere to certain measure unconditionally.
我觉得Issue部分你的思路已经比较清楚了,但是句子有一些语法问题,长句子如果不能很好的运用,那宁可用不错的短句子。 |
