Maybe there is not accurate answer to how to judge the value of the study of the history. Yet, i find the allegation that the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives specious. This allegation not only underrates the value of the study of history but also indicates that the relevance between the history and our daily lives is limited, which is not true.
During the study of history, we could(为什么这里要用虚拟语气啊?) find that the precessors(额,这个词什么意思额,我没有查到……是要说“过去”嘛?) had left us rich heritage, books, about daily life. The medicine books have recorded concrete information about the diseases which we may still suffer from today. Since then, it is easy for us to find a cure or statistics for the research of the disease. Also some books about military, such as Chinese book "The Art of War", would provide quantities of tactics and strategy(strategies), (which are adopted by some business leaders to operate their companies. And the information they have got does help them run their corporation more efficiently and effectively. Besides, there are also books summarizing the methods to grow plants or other agricultural activities, which still benefit the farmers. (我觉得这里举得例子都挺好的,说明了这些东西对我们生活的影响,不过建议作者可以把这些books是“历史的”更加突出一点,因为感觉好像虽然在开头提到了给我们留下了很多书,但是下面的论证中并没有很明确的指出这些书是跟历史有关的,是历史上流传下来的,所以如果把开头句拿掉就好像在讲书对我们日常生活的影响了)
In addition, the personalities of the success in the history may also affect the grow-up of the children. The bravery of the soldiers would help the children to get through the difficulty they are faced. (这两句太单薄了,跟后面的内容好像没什么联系呢,你后面说的both不是指这个和后面的那个观点吧?建议或者单独成段论证,或者不要了吧?)There also some experience(s) and lessons we learn from the history seem to be not related to our life, but they are still valuable information. For example, the experience of water governance would result in better understanding of the changes of the water level and help us to be well-prepared for the flood. Besides, the lessons we Chinese learn from the seclusion, which leaded to our weakness and 落后(!?这个……) in that term, would be an impressive alert for us. So the present government have been trying to make our nation open to the world, such as joining the WTO. Evidently, the government have realized the need to grasp the opportunities and handle the challenges under the global trend. Both of the examples indicate that the study of history, which is not closely connected to our daily life, also serves an essential role.
Actually, all the study of history is relevant to our daily life more or less. Taking what I mentioned above as example(examples), the better water governance could assure us a safer circumstance for our daily life. And the open and wise policy our government adopts(感觉用adopt不是特别合适哈,因为那个采用隐含采纳的意思,我觉得用implement比较好哈) definitely could inspire the development of our economy and society , which consequently improves our life quality. The history is about life and what we learn from history could also be applied for our lives.
On balance, the criteria to judge the value of the study of history could not be whether it is relevant to our daily life. I suppose a more convincing criteria would be whether we could benefit from the study. Our original purpose of studying history evidently is not to learn all the facts. It is more probable to learn the laws between the lines of history to build us a better present and future.
说下我对题目的理解哈:原命题说:只有当历史研究to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives,才有价值。但其实楼主论证的是:是否只有跟我们的生活有“直接”联系时,历史研究才有价值。但是ETS的命题中,并没有任何表明“直接”的联系的表述。所以当楼主倒数第二段论证到一切历史研究都是跟生活有关的时候,ETS这个命题就是去了意义了。包括开头的“relevance between the history and our daily lives is limited, which is not true.”我猜也是潜意识中认为ETS给了“直接”后得出的结论。所以我觉得可以在思想中去掉“直接”后对文章的关键句啊,分论点啊做出一些调整哈~~
还有一个问题哈,为什么楼主这么喜欢用would,could呢?感觉有些地方没有必要用过去式呢~~hoho~或者我们的理解不同,可以探讨一下哈~~~
还有就是人称的问题,虽然很多人说issue里面最好用第三人称,我觉得用第一第二人称也可以吧~不过我觉得第二段那个中国改革开放的例子语气上感觉蛮像写给中国人看的,我觉得可以用客观一点的语气哈~~
另外要稍微细心点,单词的单复数要注意哈,还有就是感觉用词可以再多样化一点哦,语言表达可以更好一点(此点我也正在努力中,一起加油~)
