Teacher’s salary

Every student has his/her talent in various areas. Some could master math without effort but others may not. Beside that, the background of student also would have some influence on their studying. There are several reasons to explain a student’s ability instead of his/her teacher. Therefore, it is not reasonable to make criteria of teacher’s salary based on student’s studying. This article is discussing it in the following passages.

Students’ abilities cannot prove that it is due to teaching from teachers. In China, there are 40 even more students in one class because of large population. Several of their grades should not be strong enough to support a teacher. Probably it may bring a reputation for them but could not be the basic condition for teacher’s payment. For instance, a student who was born in a musician family could be quipped the gift in playing music instrument. In Christmas or New Years’ party he/she may have excellent performance, which brings an honor for the class. So it is not fair for other staff if the teacher has higher salary due to that genius student. It will cause jealousy and argument among teachers. So student who has strong ability should not be equal to teacher’s professional work.

For the rest of students, they might be in a prejudice situation. When a benefit of one student bring teacher good payment, it is easier for teacher to put them in a favorable position. One student did not finish homework or late for class will not be criticized with their special gifts. That will cause the rest of those a negative feeling to the school work. It is more serious than how much salary the teacher makes. When students lose interests in academic program, it will be harmful for themselves and country’s future. Like an old saying goes: the youngster’s ability represent the nation.

In conclusion, according to students’ capacity to maintain teacher’s payment will not be a wise decision. For the reason is that it will lead to a disadvantage consequence for both teachers and students. Also, teachers should understand they cannot depend on students for higher salary.
