通知时间：11月14日

背景：
本科：中国TOP10 (3.6/4, rank 5)
硕士：亚洲某国top3 (99.7/100, rank 1)
论文：英文若干+中文若干+中文待发1 （杂志都很水，但是用了很多数学分析手段）
获奖经历：本科阶段省级三好学生、省级优秀毕业生（这两个估计能顶老外所谓的first class，跟学校提到只有<5%的人拿到）、其他奖学金一堆；硕士全奖，优秀研究生论文
Academic affiliation: 一个国际大企业的fellow community; 学校相关专业学术论坛的fellow
anu导师：本土professor, fellow of academy of social science, head of school
推荐信：硕士学校副校长（导师），unsw教授（visiting and teaching at my school then） + 资深教授（曾在ａｎｕ交流过）
IELTS: 7 (R 7.5, L 7.5, W 6, S 7, 感觉雅思只要过线就可)
ＧＲＥ：　４９０＋７８０＋４．５　（该专业不硬性要求ＧＲＥ，但说如果Ｑ和W分高会给PREFERENCE）

申请经历：
2005年研究生入学；
2006年初开始自学经济数学，挖掘研究兴趣，写论文；
2006年4月在论坛上知道（不是认识，在论坛上我们没有交流）教授，论坛后读教授文章，发现兴趣相投，于是email联系，并附上research proposal 和论文若干；
当中曲折： proposal被拒，但教授看上我别的文章，让我另辟蹊径，于是重写proposal;
2005年5月教授同意proposal, 并答应supervision;
2005年6月尝试申请秋季入学，但被告知奖学金机会微乎其微，同时另一教授建议我多发文章，为2007申请积累经验（“any publication in academic journal or newspaper will put you in advantage”）;
2006年8月教授决定辞职，去向未决，我顿时彷徨，在其他教授劝说下全力申请美国；
2007年4月研究生毕业临近，欧美phd申请失败，无工作，几乎绝望；
2007年5月教授突然决定不辞职，于是让着手申请，始见曙光；
2007年7月寄送材料，同时研究生延迟毕业，找到半年实习，暂时休憩；
2007年9月收到ad, 同时update publication和awards，道途渐宽；
2007年10月底教授告知专业排名第一，充满希望；
2007年11月初得知全奖：tuition waiver+living stipend，但尚未officially confirmed, 欢喜+少许忧虑；
2007年11月14日收到学校eiprs和phd scholarship通知，得大光明。

经验：
多写论文，在保证数量的基础上提升质量，尽量多使用数学approach (经济类的很难发表文章，特别是英语的，但CUILIN和我都有英语的文章发表)；
除了proposal，多写几篇相关的文章，我导师当初看中的是我其他的论文而不是ｐｒｏｐｏｓａｌ；
学分能高就高，高到没有争议；
相关的硕士学位；
出身很重要，我的本科学校是anu的partner之一，硕士学校更是；
找个牛导师，不过经济学申请的时候，ｓｕｐｅｒｖｉｓｏｒ是独立的，不参与奖学金评选；
这世界上不是只有欧美才可以读博士。

陶瓷（CUILIN找了一个华人导师，好像也是北大毕业的）；
英文论文。
