    Parents should not make decisions on behalf of their children to determine their children’s future. But they must take active part in the decision making process of their children. They have enough knowledge and experience to help their children avoid making costly mistakes so that the children can gain confidence from these decisions and learn the way of making mature decisions in their future.
    Children usually have no enough experience and knowledge to make sound decisions and parents’ participation fill these shortages. For example, when the children passed the national examination, they need to choose the right university and major to go and study. Almost every Chinese student does not any information about which university is good and which major is better for them to find a job in the future. A child has not worked before and never attended a university, and thus his or her knowledge in these areas is extremely limited. So here the parents should give some advice to their children to make sure that they make right decision.
    Children want to make sound decision in the future, they need to gain the confidence from the decisions they made before. Parents can help them by providing them with the necessary information they need to make a decision. Through the parents guidance he or she will arrive at the right decisions and make them be full of confidence.
    While parents should guide their children to make sound decision, sometime it is helpful to allow the children to make a mistake. This will teach the children to confront the consequence of a wrong decision and also make them to consider their future decisions more carefully.
