楼主，请问你这是MRES吗，也就是第二年开始，不用在BGSE学第一年吗？
宏观还是UPF，可以再考虑考虑
版主大人，是MRes，我没了解过课程，可能也要和Barcelona GSE一样上一年级课程的，只是不需要竞争Mres/PhD的位置了而已。具体真不清楚。

不晓得啊，好久没有关注UPF了，印象里面那边几乎没有经济的中国博士生，也许这两年发生很大改变了。
Jordi 老师，我看过UPF博士生名录，PhD中国学生大概有4-5个的样子。

tse和upf的在private sector業界名氣都是不成的, even in europe
都是那句，phd同時想要有名氣入private sector，南歐基本上只有一家……
P.S. 国内TSE鼎鼎大名，UPF名气似乎小点 <-- not ture indeed, both are unknown....and no one really care about which one are more famous already, as both of them are not. imagine:
Q1: where is Toulouse? is it a good place for Holiday?
Q2: what is PF of UPF? can it be eaten?
..........they are both good school of course.....but dont expect people know them.

let me say it a bit more detailed:
1. if one is going for a PhD in econ in Europe, and want both reputation in private sector and (academic + public) sector, France and Spain should likely be out of consideration.
The main reason is that all the famous business school are stand alone one, i.e. which are seperated out of traditional universities, and thus the econ department don't share the network of them.
e.g. HEC, INSEAD, ESSEC, IE, ESADE, IESE are all famous Business (there), but when People talk about economics, TSE, PSE, CEMFI, UPF, Carlos III are on the list - no overlap.
while in UK, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, it is not really the case: LSE, UCL, Oxford, Warwick, Cambridge are all target of BB, Amsterdam and Erasmus Rotterdam also have solid industry reputation in financial industry; in Germany and Switzerland, things are not that much not still simialr, Mannheim are both top tier in econ and business, UZH/HSG are the best in econ/business within country but the other side of them are not weak too......
Italy is not really a case as there are only one school that we will concern about....(EUI is good but in general it is for European only)
2. reputation in Banking......indeed i guess still depends on which department. if one apply to the Economist, some financial / macro stuffs one in Banking, i guess it is like a Team of econ/fina phd.....and thus likely they will share a more similar view as academics......i.e. we all know UPF > TSE in Marco......indeed they might not view things like this, but view your research output instead, but still better faculty are likely to let you have better academic output....
