We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own; disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning

As learn generally means that to gain or acquire new knowledge or skill, theoretically the more people’s views differ from ours, the more we can learn from them. Although it is much more complex in practice, where some more factors have to be considered, such as the stress disagreements may bring about, I still maintain that we can usually learn much more from people whose views contradict our own than from people whose views we share, since even the stress does not necessarily mean inhibit learning.

Admittedly, if disagreements arise from bias, discrimination, religion or other irrational and unscientific factors, they usually impede learning. For supporting examples one need look no further than Galileo Galilei, who believed the Sun, not Earth, is the center of the universe, and that Earth moves around the Sun and not vice versa. As this theory contradicts region beliefs of the time that the earth is the center of universe, he was placed under house arrest for the rest of his life and thereby ceased the further exploration in sun-centered theory. Furthermore, an atmosphere of disagreement, even reasonable, could also be unfavorable for a novice, who has just step in a new filed. The stress resulted from disagreement may frustrate him and abate his zest for further exploration. This essentially means inhibit learning.

Aside from the foregoing two provisos, however, I believe that the dissenters who argue against our views based on reasonable analysis could teach us much more than those who share our views for the reason that contradict views not only provide us different perspectives to observe facts, in this process, but also broaden our ken, sharpen our mind, enrich our knowledge. A good case in point is the debate as to whether people should build more dams between a economics student and a student with an environtology background. The former may hold a positive attitude for the huge economic benefit dams may bring to local placesHowevera student with may argue that the ecological damages dams bring outweigh their economic benefit.
Assuming those two opponents endeavor to deeply analyze the rationale of the other’s opinion, although a little biter at first, they will understand the issue more thoroughly and thus become more open-minded and fair. Indeed it is primarily through such debate that human knowledge advances.

Furthermore, disagreement from other people can help us spot mistakes and flaws in our viewpoints, which could be a tough task for ourselves due to the limitation of energy and knowledge. On the other hand, the stress resulted from challenges could give an impetus to our further analysis and research, hence contributing to achieve sound conclusion. These can be seen clearly in the development of evolutionism. Although the early evolutionists believed that natural selection is the main process that brings about evolutionwhich was mainly based on long-term observation of animals and plants in nature,
owing to the limit of knowledge, they cannot explain clearly the evolution mechanism. In that case, some false judgments were made, such as the claim that the changes that bring about by the environment may mix and eventually vanish through generations, which incurred extensive opposition. These contradict views help evolutionist be awareness of their mistakes and prompt them to further the research on the evolution mechanism until the gene theory was found by the latter evolutionists, Mendel and Muller.

From the discussion above, we can safely draw the conclusion that although disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning under some circumstances, when we goes beyond the stage of being a beginner, we can learn much more from rational and reasonable discommenders than from the people who share our views.

Apologies for commented on this issue in english, it is not because my english is good in any sense, just due to no chinese input in the lab and I try to find something to do.Hope my poor English is understandable to you....Good luck with your GRE test.

We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own; disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning

As learn generally means that to gain or acquire new knowledge or skill, theoretically[this word has potential negative meaning. when I see this word, I think you'll disagree the topic, but it turns out you didn't) the more people’s views differ from ours, the more we can learn from them. Although it is much more complex in practice, where some more factors have to be considered[sentence with limited information, basically useless], such as the stress disagreements may bring about, I still maintain that we can usually learn much more from people whose views contradict our own than from people whose views we share, since even the stress does not necessarily mean inhibit learning[stress doesn't necessarily inhibit learning]. [my personal feeling is that this sentence is way too long but with limited information. you basically paraphrased the topic and repeated the information you already said in first sentence.please consider make beginning paragraph concise in order to give rater better impression]

[this example, while well-written, I am not sure it is appropriate, since galileo here is trying to challenge existing theory, not learning anything.Unless you can make the connection more clear, I would say this example is irrelevant to your topic]  Furthermore, an atmosphere of disagreement, even reasonable, could also be unfavorable for a novice, who has just step in a new filed.[this is a good topic sentence, if I were you I would elaborate this point more] The stress resulted from disagreement may frustrate him and abate his zest for further exploration. This essentially means inhibit learning.

Aside from the foregoing two provisos, however, I believe that the dissenters who argue against our views based on reasonable analysis could teach us much more than those who share our views for the reason that contradict views not only provide us different perspectives to observe facts, in this process, but also broaden our ken, sharpen our mind, enrich our knowledge.[break this sentence into two is better] A good case in point is the debate as to whether people should build more dams between a economics student and a student with an environtology background. The former may hold a positive attitude for the huge economic benefit dams may bring to local placesHowevera student with may argue that the ecological damages dams bring outweigh their economic benefit.[good elaboration]
Assuming those two opponents endeavor to deeply analyze the rationale of the other’s opinion, although a little biter at first, they will understand the issue more thoroughly and thus become more open-minded and fair. [it was over-estimated the effect of argument] Indeed it is primarily through such debate that human knowledge advances.[this sentence is way too board and it is not good to end a paragraph with a board statement, you did not discuss in the main text. human knowledge is too board a topic, you may want to avoid general term like that in general when writing issue].

Furthermore, disagreement from other people can help us spot mistakes and flaws in our viewpoints, which could be a tough task for ourselves due to the limitation of energy and knowledge. On the other hand, the stress resulted from challenges could give an impetus to our further analysis and research[ what analysis/what research ? to be specific], hence contributing to achieve sound conclusion. These can be seen clearly in the development of evolutionism. Although the early evolutionists believed that natural selection is the main process that brings about evolutionwhich was mainly based on long-term observation of animals and plants in nature,. owing to the limit of knowledge, they cannot explain clearly the evolution mechanism. In that case, some false judgments were made, such as the claim that the changes that bring about by the environment may mix and eventually vanish through generations, which incurred extensive opposition. These contradict views[ like what?] help evolutionist be awareness of their mistakes and prompt them to further the research on the evolution mechanism until the gene theory was found by the latter evolutionists, Mendel and Muller.

From the discussion above, we can safely draw the conclusion that although disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning under some circumstances, when we goes beyond the stage of being a beginner, we can learn much more from rational and reasonable discommenders than from the people who share our views.[i like this paragraph, concise and to the point, make the beginning paragraph more like this]

In summary, it is a good issue actually. I like your examples and how you elaborate your point with details.
But I can tell from the assay itself, your sentence and wording is greatly influenced by so called "moban"
sentence is not the longer the better, you may want to avoid necessary words, especially, for every verb you have an adverb. like saftely, clearly, mainly, sometimes it is unnecessary.

第一次修改:
Do we learn more from people who share our ideas than from those whose ideas contradict ours? The speaker claims so, for the reason that disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning. However, I think the speaker has ignored the fact that the stress resulted from discordance does not necessarily inhibit learning but even enhance learning in many cases. On the other hand, given learning generally means that to gain new knowledge, what fresh perspective could we obtain from a person whose idea is the same as ours? In view of the facts above, I argue that the opposite of the speaker’s ideas is more reasonable- namely, the people who oppose our views usually teach us more than those who hold an identified idea with us.

As this theory contradicts region beliefs of the time that the earth is the center of universe, he was placed under house arrest for the rest of his life and thereby the study to further prove sun-centered theory ceased. Furthermore, an atmosphere of disagreement, even reasonable, could also be unfavorable for a novice, who has just step in a new filed. As is well-known, a beginner is usually willing to learn from the “nice” predecessors who support his or her basic idea. On the other hand, the stress resulted from disagreement with predecessors may frustrate him and abate his zest for further exploration. This essentially means inhibit learning.

Aside from the foregoing two provisos, however, I believe that the dissenters who argue against our views based on reasonable analysis could teach us much more than those who share our views. Without a doubt, contradict views not only provide us different perspectives to observe facts, in this process, but also broaden our ken, sharpen our mind, enrich our knowledge. A good case in point is the debate as to whether people should build more dams between a economics student and a student with an environtology background. The former may hold a positive attitude for the huge economic benefit dams may bring to local places。However, the latter may argue that the ecological damages dams bring outweigh their economic benefit. Assuming those two opponents endeavor to deeply analyze the rationale of the other’s opinion, although a little biter at first, they will understand the issue more thoroughly.

Furthermore, disagreement from other people can help us spot mistakes and flaws in our viewpoints, which could be a tough task for ourselves due to the limitation of energy and knowledge. On the other hand, the stress resulted from challenges could give an impetus to our further analysis and exploration on the ongoing research, hence contributing to achieve sound conclusion. These can be seen clearly in the development of evolutionism. Although the early evolutionists believed that natural selection is the main process that brings about evolution, which was mainly based on long-term observation of animals and plants in nature, owing to the limit of knowledge, they cannot explain clearly the evolution mechanism. In that case, some false judgments were made, such as the claim that the changes that bring about by the environment may mix and eventually vanish through generations, which incurred extensive opposition from the people who pointed out that given this claim is right, the natural selection cannot work. These objections help evolutionist be awareness of their mistakes and prompt them to further the research on the evolution mechanism until the gene theory was found by the latter evolutionists, Mendel and Muller.

From the discussion above, we can draw the conclusion that although disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning under some circumstances, when we goes beyond the stage of being a beginner, we can learn much more from rational and reasonable discommenders than from the people who share our views.
