------题目------
The only responsibility of corporate executives, provided they stay within the law, is to make as much money as possible for their companies.
------正文------
When it comes to the issue that whether the only goal of corporate executives is to make money, different people may have different opinions based on their distinct experience of lives. As far as I am concerned due to my own observation of life, I partly agree with the speaker on the point that making money is one the of goals for corporate executives. Besides, they should take more other responsibilities to their employees, their customers and even to society. In the following discussion, I would like to present my point of view.

Admittedly, maximize the profit is the chief goal of a company. A corporation, in a economic dictionary, is an organization with the purpose of pursuing the maximum interests while staying within the law. So making money is the main reason that a corporation exists. Without profit, the companies would not survive any longer. Especially for those very small companies, the success of every single business deal is relevant to their survival. As for those large corporations, making profits has other meanings, for the survival of a company does not only determine the destiny of the corporation itself and its managers, but also it is relevant to the problems of living for thousands of employees. And the unemployment would make further social problems. Thus making as much money as possible is not only the goal of the corporation, but also its obligation to the society.

However, the word "only" in the assertion of the speaking which means that the corporate executives need not to care about other problems in the society except making money is open to question. The corporation, as a cell of the society, should take more responsibilities than any single individual. It should be responsible to its employees, its customers and even the society. Firstly, the employees are not only the members of the corporation, but only they are parts of the society. Their working skills set great influence on the development of the corporation and further on themselves and the society. So the corporate executives should train their employees regularly and make them skillful and full of morale just as what some great corporations in the world such as Sony and IBM have ever done. Further, the corporation should be responsible to their customers in guaranteeing the quality of their products even at the aspects that the laws have not mentions and that the flaws of the products which nobody have ever found. Finally, the corporations should not impair the interests of the society. Even staying within the law, some behaviors of the corporations which are beyond the ethics and moral of the society should not be done by the corporate executives. Because it may impair the reputation of the corporation and a good reputation is easy to be destroyed but hard to be established.

Finally, the responsibilities which the corporation takes for the interests of their employees, customers and the society are not only the reflection of good moral of the corporate executives. Rather, it would bring about interests to the corporation in a long term. For example, enhancing the quality of the products may cost a lot of money at current time; however, it would establish a good reputation for the company among their customers and make larger profits in a long term. The example that the products labeled made in Japan usually equates to a high quality just illustrates this point. Furthermore, the benefactions of the corporate executives to the society also help to establish a good reputation for the corporation and earn larger profits in long terms.

To sum up, due to the above mentioned reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive than any one of them, we may comfortably arrive at the conclusion that though making money is the chief goal of the corporate executives just as what the speaker says, they should take more responsibilities not only to their employees and customers, but also to the society.

In the following discussion, I would like to present my point of view.观点很清楚,可略显罗嗦。可以适当简化。

Admittedly, maximize the profit is the chief goal of a company. A corporation, in an economic dictionary, is an organization with the purpose of pursuing the maximum interests while staying within the law.(这是它的内涵吧,字典上会这么解释吗?我没搜到,觉得可以不要in an economic dictionary这句) So making money is the main reason(purpose) that a corporation exists. Without profit, the companies would not survive any longer. Especially for those very small companies, the success of every single business dealt with is relevant to their survival. ( As这里应该转折过度下吧) for those large corporations, making profits has other meanings, for the survival of a company does not only determine the destiny of the corporation itself and its managers, but also( it is) relevant to the ( problems of) living for thousands of employees.(这句话很是不地道) And the unemployment would make further social problems. Thus making as much money as possible is not only the goal of the corporation, but also its obligation to the society.(公司赚钱是对社会的责任???一个全新的观点出现了)觉得这一段就专心地说赚钱对公司的生存很重要,不要扯其它观点进来了吧。

However, the word "only" in the assertion of the speaking which means that the corporate executives need not to care about other problems in the society except making money is open to question. The corporation, as a cell of the society, should take more responsibilities than any single individual. It should be responsible to(for) its employees, its customers and even the society. Firstly, the employees are not only the members of the corporation, but only (they are) parts of the society. Their working skills set great influence on the development of the corporation and further on themselves and the society.(这句话什么意思呀。不明白, So the corporate executives should train their employees regularly and make them skillful and full of morale just as what some great corporations in the world such as Sony and IBM have ever done.(做这些的目的也是为了提高员工素质,说白了也是赚钱。我觉得可以从公司打造企业文化,给予员工归属感上来说) Further, the corporation should be responsible to their customers in guaranteeing the quality of their products even at the aspects that the laws have not mentions and that the flaws of the products which nobody have ever found. Finally, the corporations should not impair the interests of the society. Even staying within the law, some behaviors of the corporations which are beyond the ethics and moral of the society should not be done by the corporate executives. Because it may impair the reputation of the corporation and a good reputation is easy to be destroyed but hard to be established。这一段是说公司除了赚钱还有很多责任和义务,但论证不是很清楚

Finally, the responsibilities which the corporation takes for the interests of their employees, customers and the society are not only the reflection of good moral power of the corporate executives.

语言很不错,句式也很好,但整体结构不是太好,论证过程中也有些问题。不过还是很羡慕楼主的时间字数比呀,加油努力吧。(不知道是不是拍重了,欢迎讨论哈)
