理论上说，非主流的领域本来应当随着科学的不断发展而组建退出历史舞台，但实际上，在现实生活中， 非主流领域学科仍然扮演着不可替代的角色对于今天的人们

As we known, such nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits should leave the eyesight of human beings as the rapid development of technology and global. However, to some degree, the nonmainstream mentioned above still play a more important role in society by meeting human some needs than mainstream science.

To begin with, nonmainstream areas of inquiry once were the main direction and theory in the past many years and ancients compared these nonmainstream areas as the mainstream science of their era, because the nonmainstream actually satisfied ancients' needs and requirements which confuse them for a long time. For example, for unknowing the densities and vague future, people always thought that themselves were not clear with their world at all, and thus felt an emotion which included fears, hasty. Therefore, some intelligible people created the nonmainstream areas of inquiry which claimed that they could answer ancients' questions and resolve problems about the future, the fate, the abnormal phenomena and so forth. Meanwhile, the nonmainstream areas of inquiry also became measures of power in order to control people in an efficient way. And then, experiencing many periods, past authentic areas of inquiry had been reformed into today nonmainstream areas of inquiry by the progress of science, technology, and other disciplines.

In addition, today nonmainstream areas of inquiry play an irreplaceable function on improving our society and maintaining social stable. Firstly, such nonmainstream areas provide a large amount of details for today's mainstream science. For instance, astrology, whose work is to observe the positions and aspects of sun, moon, stars and other celestial body, supplies an avalanche of details to astronomy and thus objectively prompt the process of astronomy. Secondly, under this rapid pace of living, one, more or less, suffers from some aliments of psychology. With the help of nonmainstream areas, a part people will gain a method in which they can look for a an wei and get a self-satisfaction, because when facing unsettled difficulties, one always prefers to seek for a dependent. In this sense, some people will get relaxation to do better jobs and on the other hand our society can develop in high-speed and constant form.

However, we also should not ignore the unwanted side effect produced by nonmainstream areas. After all, nowadays society own a more modernized and scientific mainstream science, it indeed has some great and unique features. If one addicts such nonmainstream areas, he or she obviously can be not likely to discern the difference between imagination and realization. Moreover, he/she will become too blinded and crazy to make some harmful effect to our world; xie jiao can apparently be a good example. Thus, without being rational treatments, the nonmainstream areas will jeopardize our livings and draw an unbelievable future.
