73.In most professions and academic fields, imagination is more important than knowledge.
I totally agree with the statement that imagination is more important than knowledge in most professions and academic fields. Although knowledge is necessary, it is often the imagination that bring about creativity and discoveries.
Admittely, knowledge lays foundation to every research or academic program. The theories, theorems, principles and axioms provide rules that guide researchers to go the right way and prevent them from wrong direction or even hurt. One need knowledge to tell him if the research or program is practicable and what tools or methoeds should be used. Furthermore, with the help of knowledge, one will avoid wasting time, sources and energy. For example, we can't be more familiar whit the story of Edison and bulbs. During the experiment, Edison must consided the environment in the bulb as well as the material used for the filament. He analyzed varies of material, then compared their chemical characters and heat resistance with each other and finally decided. If Edison didn't have the knowledge of chemistray and physics, he couldn't understand the advantages of each materil, not mentioned to search better filament. The example demonstrate that knowldge is siginificant in professions and academic fields.
It is true that knowledge is absolutely vital, however, knowldge can't create novel proposal alone, which means without imagination, knowledge is only a empty shelf. Imaginaton is the source of new ideas, thus perfecting academic system and coming up with innovation. As for academic research, imagination bring out original drafts that explore a new field or upgrade present system. Maybe the assumptions are seem ridicular or incredible at first, but after trying it might end up to great success. How can people in 20 years ago believed that it's possible to copy one's organ by a single cell? Imagination is the premise of practice. In another profession field as art, imagination plays a more essential role. No matter it is music, literature or painting, arts require more fantasies. Great masterpieces are not mostly attributed to excellent skills, besieds, audience are usually conqured by the wild imagination of artists. There wouldn't be any fictions or original songs without imagination, therefore, people also couldn't admire Holmes or Michal Jackson.
Furthermore, knowledge can be gained as supplement after imaginational creativity. For instance, taking class of direction after building up a picture of film in one's mind is also a way to product film. Knowledge, which can be absorbed by books, doncuments, classes and the Internet, is the aids to accomplish a possible plan, while what draws the original sketch is more important and can't be acquired by any effective training.
In one word, neither knowledge nor imaginatino should be abandoned. Without imagination, knowledge is only dull tools, otherwise imagination will also be beautiful bubbles if there is no knowledge's support. However, when compared, imagination is still more important because it is the source of every possible.
