The arguer concludes that Green Thumb Gardening Center can increase profits by expanding the variety of vegetable seeds. To support his assertion, the arguer cites a national survey about the vegetable available in supermarket and popularity of local gardening magazine, Great Gardens. However, there are several critical fallacies in this argument.

First of all, the arguer fails to convince me that the consumers are becoming more and more interested in growing their own vegetables. The result of a national survey that consumers were dissatisfied with the fresh vegetable in the supermarket does not necessarily apply to the local condition. It is entirely possible that this town doesnot follow the national trend. Even if the local consumers were dissatisfied with fresh vegetables in supermarket, the preference of growing their own vegetables is still open to doubt. Common sense tells me that growing vegetable oneself is not at all an easy task because sufficient time and care are indispensable. Without any sign that they prefer growing their own vegetable, I have a good reason to doubt this unfounded assumption.

Secondly, the popularity of the gardening magazine Great Gardening fails to lend a support to the arguer's conclusion. The arguer doesn't provide any information about the circulation of this gardening magazine and the primary  readers of it. It is entirely possible that this magazine is a professional journal with a small scale that mainly read by the gardeners. As a result I have a good reason to suspect whether it can represent the preference of local consumers. Even if this magazine were vary popular among local people, I have been told nothing that its content is about growing vegetable themselves. Maybe the reason of its popularity is its useful introduction of growing flower. Unless, the arguer provide more details about this magazine, it can hardly strengthen his argument.

Thirdly, even if people would like to grow their own vegetable, the assertion that the profits of Green Thumb Gardening Center will increase is still questionable. A good market is a necessary part of increasing profits, but far from sufficient. Quality, cost, administration and the competitor also exert great influence on it.  Although their center have a good market, it seems to be impossible to increase profits if the quality of its products is much worse than that of its competitor. Without ruling out all these interfering factors, the arguer's conclusion will never be credible.

To sum up, the arguer fails to support his argument directly and effectively for the fallacies above. To strengthen his argument, more information about the cunsumers' preference and more details about that magazine are obligatory. What's more, the arguer need to take all factors concerned with the profits into consideration.
