Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

The speaker asserts that the significance of education is to make every student satisfied concerning their interests and needs, It might be tempting to agree with the speaker on the basis that everyone is entitled to proper education and to achieve their career goals through education. However, the speaker overlooks the variability and the divergence of the individual needs and interests.

Plato's remark” better be unborn than untaught, for ignorance is the root of misfortune” best reveals the significance of education to the human-being. Education could sweep out ignorance and arrogance, could erase the evils and set the morals. The quality of education is determinant to the society's destiny. To keep the society pioneering in all walks of life, everyone should be and must be involved in the lifelong career-education. Therefore, it is the primary obligation for each government and educator to do their utmost to meet the individual needs and interests of each student in the regime of education.

However, how to assess whether the education is effective or not? To give out questionnaire to everyone who is getting education in and out of the school to simply answer one question: "Are you satisfied with the current education you're going through?" Completely ridiculous!

To answer that question, we should first come to the real connotation pf education. Education does not equal to schooling, because the former is nore open-ended and all-inclusive and it knows no bounds. People are engaged in education from infancy on and it is an integral part of one's entire life. I concede that people should decide the direction of their education based on their interests and needs, but in the field of education-a lifelong process. It would be unreasonable to assess the effectiveness through one paper or the grades of a final exam.

American writer Lilliam Smith has ever said" Education is a private matter between the person and the world of knowledge and experience, and has little to do with school or college". I consider this remark as the real essence of education. The school or college could only made the students aware the importance of education. Appreciating the significance of education, they could really achieve the goals of education-to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.

In sum, the speaker’s assertion of judging the effectiveness of education begs the question because of the variability and the divergence of the individuals. It is almost mission impossible to meet everyone’s needs and interests. Besides, education is a lifelong process. It is premature to assess the effectiveness of education through some simple grades. How to decide the education is effective or not is a complicated process.

自我评价:第一次写issue,感觉需要豁出去才能见人==,抬头看了看论坛上的话,我不怕丢人,被指出问题才能进步!!感觉思绪很混乱,希望路过的战友们多多指正。

总体感觉:遣词造句很不错,没发现什么明显的语法问题。另外,两处引用了名言是一大亮点。但是似乎有一些偏题,正文主题花了三段论证了"It would be unreasonable to assess the effectiveness". 个人看法是,这个题目的中心是要论证the student-centered education or specialized education is more effective or not,不是the deasibility of assess the effectiveness.
