简单说说面试中的“自我介绍”

简单说说自我介绍。
以找工作的自我介绍为核心。申请的一些学校的需要的面试，大同小异，不单独讲了。

99%的面试，一开始都是先做自我介绍。自我介绍其实真的挺简单的，但是很多人却死在这里了。

自我介绍的目的，无非是1，展示自己的优秀；2，表达自己对这个公司，这个职位的兴趣。

自我介绍的时间，1分半钟。注意，这个1分半是尽量往1分钟走，而不是往2分钟那个方向。自我介绍千万不要超过2分钟。自我介绍不是讲故事，时间长了没有任何意义。对于面试的其他问题，准备的时候只列提纲就可以。自我介绍一定要精确到每一个词。1分半差不多是250个单词。千万不要超过275。

自我介绍的内容，主要是experience。experience分2种，一种是academic的，一种是extracurricular的。一般来说，academic最多2句话。比如“I ranked first out of 70 students in my major. I was awarded national scholarship by ministry of education due to outstanding academic performance.”注意：1，排名比GPA更客观；2，解释GPA低的唯一合理原因就是自己的排名高；3，奖学金什么的，只说一个最重要的就好。4，如果实在拿不出手，也可以不说academic。extracurricular的，后面细说。

拆解下自我介绍。

第一句，感谢对方来面试你。比如“very much appreciate the precious time you take to interview me”“thank you for your time to interview me”“thank you for giving me the interview opportunity”。

第二句，姓名，专业，学校，什么时候毕业（已经毕业的就是毕业时间）。“My name is **. I got my bachelor degree in nuclear science from ** Univ. in 2012.”“My name is **, you could call me Phil. I chose the major in nuclear science and I’m going to graduate in June, 2014.”注意，I majored in **是病句。

第三句到第四句，就是上面提到的academic的内容。

第五句到第N句，记住，一定是从上大学开始，按时间顺序讲经历。（除非你高中获得过“国际”奥赛的奖牌或者曾经是奥运冠军。）经历挑重点的，一般都是2句话或者3句话。“I'm the president of ** club. I led *** attracting *** students.”。或者“I'm interested in nuclear science and joined Porf. Zhang 's lab. I worked in .... and I learned .....”。”I am a volunteer in WWF and I participated their biodiversity protection program last summer. I went to three different areas alongside Yangtze River with my colleagues. In wildlife, I enhanced my teamwork ability, which I think is important for my career.”经历要与申请的position相关的，不然也都是废话。“I believe I have the capability to work for your company for I had my internship here this summer. I ****.”

第N+1句，用一句话，从experience过渡到你为什么申请这个职位，一句话。比如“From my experience in HSBC, I got interested in finance, so I decided to apply***”或者“I consider my future career in finance, so I chose to apply ** position”。对方公司怎么好之类的废话就不要说了。这一句就是总结，意思是你前面的experience能够确保你有为这个公司工作的ability。

第N+2到N+N句，说一点个人的兴趣爱好，reading什么的就算了，要说一点让对方能感兴趣的东西。“Beyond study, I like to play computer games with my friends. I also founded the largest WOW guild in my server.”“Personally, I like diving. I got PADI OW 3 years ago and I’ve been to over 10 diving resorts in South East Asia.”

结论，自我介绍一定要流利，反复练习。说完一个point停2秒。大概练到怎么说，时间误差都在5秒之内，就ok了。千万不要出错，不要停顿。

说一点我自己的看法。我觉得自我介绍最重要的作用是arouse interviewer's interests. 像学校，专业这些resume上大大罗列着的信息，我感觉没必要利用宝贵的自我介绍时间去重复。甚至在greeting时说过自己的名字了，这个时候连名字都不用重复。自我介绍最核心的内容是表达你的qualification和你对这个职位passion，其余拉杂的信息可以先缓一缓。

另外我感觉self introduction不需要太面面俱到。比方说，如果觉得说完自己为什么申请这个职位之后过渡到personal interest有点生硬的话，完全可以把这一部分丢掉。再就是self introduction流利度和熟练度当然很重要，但不要太过rigid。假如有必要用到300个词，我觉得没什么问题。只要你说得足够有趣生动，没人会count你说了多少个词。另外有精力的话可以准备多个版本，2 min版，5 min版，甚至10 min版。我就听说过有人被问到用10分钟做一个自我介绍的。

最后BS一下只水没内容的楼层……:(
