Don't be ridiculous. That's not telling a story about who you are. That is leveraging a story of who you happen to be. The fact that you claim that it's an innocent attempt "而已" while knowing it is not proves that you do not deserve nice words.
Judging from the capacity of reasoning you displayed in this response, I also recommend you not to take the LSAT. Seriously the logic flaws in this sentence can be made into at least three different LR questions.
And absolutely nobody cares about who you intend to do it with.

gay people要面对的社会压力和心理压力是实实在在的,不是一句 we are the same就能抹杀的。 I don't see why this can not be a merit for him.

What you are saying have merits, but the reality is blacks/latinos are underrepresented minorities in law schools and most other academic settings for that matter, but LGBT are not. Actually, according to the survey, LGBT (2% of the population) has more than its share of members in law school. It's like Asians. We are minorities (5% of the population) in the US, but we are not underrepresented in higher education. A lot of Asian kids are also subject to stereotypes and ridicules from their peers when they grow up. It is a topic that the US supreme court just visited but sidestepped last year, and I am pretty sure it will go back there again in the very near future. Just in case you are wondering what they said, they ruled that race can be considered in the admission only if that is the only way universities can assure its student body diversity, and sent the case back to the lower court. That being said, if you have a strong case in which you fully describe and elaborate on how you overcame the obstacles to be where you are and who you are, I am sure the admission committee would take that into consideration.
