Below is a PhD opportunity in University of Hong Kong, followed by the information and contact of the supervisor.

PhD research scholarships in Transportation or Logistics at the University of Hong Kong (HKU)

HKU has recently been ranked 24th among the world’s Universities (Source: THE - QS World University Rankings 2009).
From time to time, PhD research scholarships are available to the full-time Ph.D candidates. Depending on the performance of the candidate, the scholarships can provide up to a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (approximately US$2,600) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year for a period of three years. For the proposed supervisor, please consider Dr. Wai Yuen SZETO, Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at HKU (email: drwszeto@yahoo.com.hk). He was Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and Trinity College Dublin, respectively. His research interests include

dynamic traffic assignment,
transport network design,
transport network reliability,
game theoretic approaches to transport and logistic problems,
public transport,
transport logistics,
pricing,
meta-heuristics for transport and logistics problems, and
landuse-transport-environment.

Dr Szeto has been published over 70 referred journal and proceeding papers. He has also received international research awards including:
1.
The HKIE (Hong Kong Institution of Engineers) Outstanding Paper Award for Young Engineers/Researchers (2008)
2.
The EASTS (Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies) Outstanding Paper Award (2003)
·
The outstanding paper “Time-dependent Transport Network Design: A Study of Budget Sensitivity", out of about 460 papers presented at (or 800 abstracts submitted for) the 5th biannual EASTS Conference in 2003.
3.
The WCTR (World Conference on Transport Research) Prize (2001)
·
The best paper “A Cell-based Dynamic Traffic Assignment Model", out of about 700 papers presented at (or 1100 abstracts submitted for) the 9th triennial WCTR Conference in 2001.

本人双非经济统计专业 25fall目前拿到了曼大的ds（语言高，要读10周语言班）和南洋理工大学的海事研究（20号之前交留位费），想问问uu们该怎么选择offer ？未来想去互联网行业的数分岗或者在咨询行业定量或消费者研究求职，这两个学校level差距大吗？，是否应该为了更高的qs放弃更好的专业？

UZH 1.5years+预计总花费32万RMB KTH 2years+预计总花费40万RMB 课程设置: 感觉KTH课程设置比较硬核点，偏数理统计;费用是比较重要的原因，KTH说是有奖学金，但感觉难度极大。长远目标是留在欧洲，瑞士的好处是制药业发达，但我完全没信心有能力找到工作。读博也在考虑范围内。

Polisci读博硕士选择

目标最后polisci读博 CEU econ waiver了学费 polisci学费要自己出感觉有些贵了（感觉花这些钱不如直接去Bocconi 学费交的有点不甘心）Bocconi好处是title大就业作为退路也好一点但是不知道ess是否适合申请polisci以及placement怎么样 ceu的polisci很好但是给的钱太少想请了解的朋友们投个票
