Educational institutions should actively encourage their students to choose fields of study that will prepare them for lucrative careers.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.
It's axiomatic that education is freedom and equal to everybody and whether we should choose fields of study that prepare us for lucrative careers or of our interests depends much on ourselves rather on educational institutions. There forth, whether educational groups should actively encourage their students to pursue what subjects will vary from person to person and need a comprehend view concerning families, schools, as well as the whole society.
Firstly, university students are our country's promising generations, a freedom and open education will greatly boost our homeland's developments. We will probably all reckon that it is knowledge that differentiates us from animals; especially the education in university is a diamond of our human's intellect system, while the most valuable merits of a university is that it can encourage their students to research whatever they want as long as those researches will not destroy us. Take Einstein for example, if he did choose fields that prepare him for a lucrative future; then we would lose a greatest scientist in our human history.
what's more, taking the harmonious development of our society into consideration, if, the majority of students only choose several fields that can guarantee them a profit future, the balance of our country will break down, which is a disaster to us all. Take the fields of bio-engineering for example, comparing to other subjects like law, medicine and monetary and so forth, bio-engineering is a brand-new field that cannot guarantee profits immediately in the future, however, if all of our students do not choose this field, as a result, this field will wither and we will losing a promising technology that could bring us hopes in diagnosing and curing diseases.
Admittedly, in some circumstances, students should be encouraged by educational institutions to pursue the fields that promise a better job. Take my friends John for example, he is extremely interested in computer and software, even though he did worse on his math and chemistry. His ambition is to join a vocational campus to further study his interest and set up a computer company like APPLE in the future. Just like not every stone is alike, it not every student embrace higher education and those students prefer a more pragmatic attitude towards their future.
In short, before persuading their students to pursue a field, universities or campus or vocational schools should keep a balance among students’ abilities and interests and the heathy progress of our country and human being.
