Agree or disagree: Teachers should assign homework for students every day.

To discuss whether teachers should assign homework for students every day, I would like begin with the question closely related to the top, which is what do we expect from a qualified teacher.

It is said that mediocre teacher teaches; good teacher inspires; great teachers inspires. I cannot agree more with this statement. Best teachers are able to inspire their students to explore the mystery and complicity of learning subjects independently. Only by this way can students be equipped with a creative mind. Teachers are supposed to tell students how to learn instead of simply imparting knowledge in classroom activities. With the tool and a ready mind to crack any learning difficulties, students can put what they’ve learnt in class into practice. Since practice makes perfect. The after-class tasks are very important in the sense that they are test stone of students learning results. Therefore, homework, defined as any forms of after class task is indispensable in effective learning process. Teachers should assign homework for student every day.

Assigning homework is conducive to arouse students’ interest. Task-based teaching and learning mode has prevailed in teaching theory all over the world and a lot of successful results have been turn out. One important factor contributing to this result is that tasks intrigue students, the problems students encountered in the process of problem resolving process challenging their intellectual capacity. Students actively try every means to resolve problems and find out answers.

One example supporting my point is my mathematical teacher’s teaching method in high school. After each class, we were assigned several homework, easy ones as well as difficult ones. Some of the homework was so hard that no one in our class could figure it out. So we doubted whether the mathematical problems could be solved with our already mastered knowledge. Our teacher’s answer was yes and showed us three different ways to unlock the puzzle, all knowledge needed was within our learning scope. Everyone in our class was amazed, and from then on, we were so enthusiastic to learn how to simplify mathmateical questions that once homework was assigned, we could wait to test our ability to crack tasks.

From the above discussion, I assert homework should be assigned everyday by teachers as a means to inspire students’ learning aspiration and creative thinking.

Best teachers are able to inspire their students to explore the mystery and complicity---你是想说complexity吧？of learning去掉 subjects independently.
