A faculty @ Illinois Institute of Technology is looking for Ph.D students. Please check the following information and contact him directly.
Openings (starting Summer or Fall 2011) are available at the Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering Department of Illinois Institute of Technology, for qualified students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the area of laser-matter interactions and laser-based manufacturing. RA or TA support will be provided.
Highly-motivated students with strong backgrounds in one or several areas of heat transfer/fluid mechanics/computational fluid dynamics, optics, finite element and solid mechanics, and materials processing, are encouraged to apply.
Previous research experience in laser-matter interactions and laser-based manufacturing is preferred but NOT required. Previous experience with ICCD camera is a big plus (but not required).
Because the positions are for the PhD degree program, an earned M.S degree (by the end of the Spring or Summer semester of 2011) in engineering, physics, or related fields is required.
Students who are interested can send your resume to: bwu11@iit.edu
