2022-2023 Ph.D. Position in CFD and Machine Learning at UMass Lowell

A new Ph.D. position is available immediately in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The research will involve (medical) image-based fluid-structure interaction modeling and machine learning.
Qualifications:
•        a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, and Aerospace), applied mathematics, or related fields. Applicants with a master's degree are preferred.
•        Solid understanding of numerical methods, fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics. Applicants with previous experience in biomechanics (biofluid and/or biosolid mechanics) are preferred.
•        Previous research experience is highly desirable. Desirable research skills include computational fluid dynamics, machine learning background, and programming (C, C++, or Python).
•        Strong oral and written communication skills.
