3月21日 110115NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The main role of the university professor is to educate students rather than to do research.

From the history, we learned that the first university was used to teach those who were interested and had made a good basis of what they had.
With the development of the human being and civilization, in my opinion, the role of the university remains to let students do reseraches rather than to make them
cultivate and educate students.

One of the importance of doing reseraches can extremely broaden their horizons. There is a interview from the China Daily, which makes an experiment among 2 groups of people who were both univeristy students. One group was from the country and the other is from the downtowm. They both went to America to have a look on its advanced technologies and its good service and after that they should be asked to finish a paper about this short trip. people from the country just made a superficial conclusion, saying American great and power. To be contrary, the other group of people from downtown deepened their perspective and aillustrate the difference between China and America, and even pointed out that there were some flaws and provided some creatiive ideas and methods, which were estimated by the manager. The university students from the downtown when they were in the college always were assigned to accomplish reseraches, which differd from those from country who just were cultivated and educated by the professors.

Another reason for doing contributes to college students' abilities to have a better understanding of what they have learned and also will helpful to explore what they don't know. For an instance, when I was in the senior high school, I was that sort of person who were doing alt of homework, listeing to the class, leading to a individual and "sealed" person. I cought lamost every word from the teacher, which I were just like a machine because I could not think about myself. However, after entering the universitiy, I have the chance to exert myself and, especially from doing reseraches, I have the abilities to know how to learn more and more efficiently.

To sum up, Doing reserches will be both helpful and mindful for the main role of the university.

莱顿大学考古vs罗马一大考古

在莱顿大学研究型硕士（两年）和罗马一大地中海考古硕士（两年）之间纠结。莱顿大学优点：1.研究型考古硕士可能认可度更高？读博更容易。2.人数似乎更少，教授一对一指导，质量更高（已经选定导师）。3.荷兰整体英文水平更高，不会说荷兰语在荷兰基本生活问题不会很大。缺点：1.荷兰的气候和食物和意大利相比都差很多。2.一年两万欧的学费（意大利免学费），算起来两年紧紧张张要50W。罗马一大优点：1.免学费，成本低，两年30w很充裕，还能旅游。2.天气好，吃的也不错。3.罗马城市的历史感更强，古迹丰富。4.可以实习？能赚点外快？缺点：1.意大利整体英文水平不如荷兰（在官网上已经深刻感受到，感觉不会意大利语真的很不方便！）2.教学质量是否也与莱顿的研究型硕士项目有所差距？公立大校，就读体验不知道如何？至今没有看到任何关于考古系的faculty的信息.....用博是否认可度较低？（有点偏向申请美国的博士）3.现在要准备一堆材料让人头大.....例如价值声明的一堆东西4.该项目似乎偏向于史前考古，但我更倾向于历史时期，但又看官网设置的课程也有历史时期的内容？（再次吐槽官网的页面真的很难找）

欧陆cs硕士选校求助

本科211，个人未来的发展倾向是回国工作or国外读博（目前不确定）如果回国工作的话更偏向外企/国内大厂，不考虑进国企/体制内。个人选校考虑的因素主要是教学质量和科研资源，是否方便读博，以及不太想延毕（如果不是这点我可能会直接polimi）。希望大家能给一些建议，如果投票的时候能说一下原因就更好啦，谢谢。
