Scandals—whether in politics, academia, or other areas—can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.
------正文------
Are scandals, whether in politics,academia,or other areas, really useful? The answer is abvious. They attract the public attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.In my opinion, scandals can give an impetus to social reforms.

In the first place, scandals devote to the progress of politics. There are many scandals all over the world that lead to the innovation of society. For instance, watergate scandal, which was happened in the United States in 1970s, is a political scandal which is complex and a deep one full of intrigue and back room deals, public politics and personal motivations.It was caused by the illegal action of President Nexon, who just wanted to win the reelection for next President.However, after watergate scandal was exposed to the public, Nexon undertook great pressure and had to resign in the end. The effects of the watergate scandal did not by any means end with the resignation of President Nexon, so much did the watergate scandal affect the national and international consciousness. Therefore, the lessons learned by these events are normous and the key point is making a political reformation that no one will take a risk for personal political purpose and political regime is more order.

In the second place, scandal prevent the academical decay.As we know, with the development and popullar of internet, academical decay become an important troubles throughout the world. According to some back room investigation, as long as  you can pay enough money to some wit companies, some acadamic pappers, even a gratuated papers, can buy in the internet and even those companies could help you publish your papers, whether how worse it is, to a certain periodicals. What is more, we can not anticipate to inhibit it by the law because no law related to academical decay had been put out in most countries, such as in China. So, whether can we do nothing about it? Or what  can we  do to restrain the academical decay? The facts demonstrate, by diclosing all these academical decay to public and academical fields in newspaper, magazine, TV and internet and so on, that we can develop  it  to academical scandals.Just as the political scandals, no one just want to involve into academical scandals because it not only bring them notorious reputation but also finally lose the credit of their peer.Certainly, piracy is one of serious behaviours for academical decay. if function of  scandals can be used widely and appropriately to prevent it, it  lose its position as well.

In conclusion, there are still several evidences  to support the foregoing point, which, unfortunately, I have no time to illustrate in detail. But what I discussed above should well demostrate my claim that scandals can give an reformation to social reforms.
