Compared to the past, people's life today has greatly changed due to the development of technology. Machine acts as the assistant of human beings. Will human mind always be superior to machines for the reason that machines are only tools of human minds as the author asserts. From my point of view, I have my reservation.

Yet, all machines today are created by human beings to reduce the intensity of our daily work. Taking washing machine for example, it has emancipated people from involving in a large pile of drudgery and saved a large amount of time for them to spent on other things, such as watching TV, making a visit to friends, or do some outdoor exercise. Also, machines in factory contribute a lot to the productivity of workers. But seldom of these machines can achieve most of these works without the interference of human beings for the reason that most of them have no intelligence. Just as the author says they are just tools of human minds.

The progress of artificial intelligence, however, makes machines acting as a man possible. Recently, courses about artificial intelligence are operated in most universities and colleges. Some special machines with simple intelligence have been created to accomplish some complex tasks, such as robots used to explore the surface of some planets. Many disciplines in AI have make a breakthrough progress and more and more scholars participate in the research of natural language processing, machine learning, expert system and so forth. Bill gates also predict that robot for home use is possible within 30 years and will experience a process computers did 30 years ago.At that time, a machine will have much resemblance with human being.

However, people must learn to be independent from machine though they can do much things better than human beings. Since the time computer was created, its behavior is always superior to human being in some aspect, such as word processing, calculating etc. We must make this circumstance under control in order to prevent some unnecessary troubles. A computer program used to calculating interest on a bank loan can serve as a example to what I want to illustrate. The program, known as Year 2000 problem, which uses the conventional two-digit date standard that is responsible for this bug, will read the last year of a loan that expires in 2000 as "00", and this would make interest calculating go awry as a result. So we must be initiative.

In summary, it is likely that people will never be able to arrive at the same conclusion on the controversial issue. However, taking into account all dimensions discussed above may be a decisive step out of this dilemma.
