A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community
Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

It is true that building a large factory near our community will bring both advantages and disadvantages, however, in my opinion, the benefits it brings will outweigh lose it will cost. So, I tend to support the building of the new factory

I admit that this new influence will cause some kind of disadvantages. In common sense, big factories release waste water and gases, which pollute environment and bring great harm to the health of all living creatures nearby. More often factories make noises which is also very unhelpful according to numerous scientific experiments showing that noises will cause ear ringing, ear pains, mental disturbance, and even heart deceases. However, these disadvantages are not inevitable--there are lots of ways to reduce or prevent pollution by high technology, such as establishments of good operating procedures and inventions of environmentally friendly alternative materials.

In addition, the foundation of the big factory will promote the development of local economy greatly. Usually, new factory choose to build at places that enjoy more than one of the three preponderance—rich resources, low-priced labor resource, or forecasting market demand. In this way, the superiority of the town can be further developed. For example, there are lots of processing factory in China built by foreign enterprises because of the low-priced labor resource. In this way, the foreign investments stimulate the local economy and the foreign enterprises decrease the cost. Actually, building new factory will bring a win-win situation for local economy.

Moreover, the establishment of the big factory will enhance of the quality of people’s life. On one hand, it can help to solve the problem of unemployment, since many people can be employed by this new factory. On the other hand, it will definitely bring more taxes which can be used to build the public fundamental facilities, such as highway, phonebooth，subway, recreation parks, etc, all of which are beneficial to common people. As we can see, the building of new factory will improve the living of ordinary people indirectly.

In sum, I admit the building of a big factory near our community has certain disadvantages. However, the advantages it will bring are much more. So I support the suggestion.(366)

The person (teacher) I admire (respect) is my English teacher Ms. Zhang.

On one hand, most students enjoy her classes. In her classes, learning English is not simply reading or reciting the textbooks. On the contrary, she got numerous interesting teaching methods, such as watching CD, drama performance, etc, which easily arouse our enthusiasm.

On the other hand, she pays attention to communications with students. She positively collect the feedbacks from the students about how do they feel of the content of her lectures; does her speed of talking too fast or not; whether her pronunciation is clear enough. In this way, she can always promote her teaching.

Ms. Zhang enjoys perfect teaching methods and nice communication with students. This is why I respect Ms. Zhang.
