  I agree with the assertion that the history overrated the influence of some elites. However, as to the determinant of the significant events and trend, my point is that, both of the famous few and the commons are playing an important role from which are different each other.
  First of all, it is necessary and sufficient for the history to emphasize the prominent few in the study of history. On the one hand, researches done on those elite are of tremendous importance for the academic authority, what is more, enlighten the public by either their unmatchable aggressiveness or persistent efforts on the way to success. Namely, To set an example for the people of contemporary or their posterity, the study of history need to stress the achievements made by those eminent ones. Socrates, who was an unparalleled philosopher, take his historical study for instance, it is the study of whose unique life experience and inimitable character, also his original theories that make people of nowadays are able to grasp the general formulation of his thinking system. Aside from those, when through the study of Socrates' gorgeous works, researchers can even understand the meaning of the ideology of west. On the other hand, the history provides their offspring with much more information of the famous few than that of the commons, thus result in a fact that people are easily paying more attention to those who illuminate nearly almost every corner of the history. As a consequence, there is too much emphasis placed on the individuals.
Although those important ones were overrated all the time, it does not mean that those elite overshadow the influence of groups of people, since both of them propel the improvement of the society.
  As to the famous, it is no doubtful that by whom the events and trends of milestone were leaded. Attribute to the wisdom, aspiration, determination, and charisma, those illuminated ones are possible to influence greatly in the society, of economical, cultural, and political aspect. Further, it is doomed for someone to appear as the leader in those significant events, but the uniqueness among different famous few decide to a huge extent the progress of events and the diversity of trend. For instance, as the history moves on, the globe is urgent for the demand of equality, namely, which was the core spirit of commercial trade as well as the fundamental principle of political life, especially in the undeveloped countries. As for the south Africa, the need for equality between the white and the black was conspicuous social focus after the independent movements in many countries in the South Africa, Mandela, whose destiny is to be such a leader, after his 27 year imprisonment experience, his struggle for the equality made the democracy and the equal society in the South Africa.
  As to the groups of people, people can not deny their importance in the inciting and inspiring the development of history. The commons, whose demand often are the requirements of the social trend, keeping pace with the progress in society. Their physical mind call for the creation of literal works, and their material life indicates the demand for the technology development in science. Besides, the public are making efforts for the possibility of the significant events and trends. What the commons do is to offer the society with material and physical material, most of all to act as the practicers of the inventions and originality. For instance, when referred to the invention of the bulb, the appreciation of Edison comes into mind promptly. While it need to mention that, it is the mass, who provide the glass and the raw material of bulb for Edison, and further, without the effort of the engineers, the manufacturers, the patent protectors and the consumers, the invention can not be applied into practice, produced by large qualities and be available to every family.
In a word, eminent ones are necessary and easily be recorded due to their significant influence. And under no circumstance can we deny the contributions made by groups of people, that is to say, only by the compatible constitution of the famous few and the commons results in propelling the development in the history.
