The lecture and reading material are concerning on the problem of charity giving that is declining in the recent time. Tough though the situation donation faced is , the lecturer is optimistic on it and believe that in the long term it will increase; while the author asserted that it will decreasing for various reasons.

In the first place, the professor claims that acompany with the ascending population of elders, the budget of government will run low sooner or later if it has to cover all the heath care of them. Under this circumstance, according to the professor, American people will response to the emergency and the donation will increase as well. However, the writer allege that due to the coverage of public welfare, it is less essential for people to give, which is totally contrast to the listening passage.

The second conflict lies in the attitude toward to the bureau of charity. The professor maintains that although people nowadays are unsatisfy with the phenomenon of corruption , but eventually people will regain confidence on it ; while the composer of passage argues that people are becoming skecptical on the officers, and their confidence will finally resort to collapse.

Finally, they have different perceptions on the charity frauds. It is manifested in the listening material that evovling liars will not affect people's enthusiastism to donate in the long run, because they tend to be more careful than before. Notwithstanding, the writer reckons that this will put off donors' passion and make them cease donating.
