I am pleased to inform you that the Economics Department Admissions Committee has recommended to The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GRS) that you be admitted to the Master of Arts in Economic Policy (MAEP) program.
This e-mail is the first step in formalizing your admission to Boston University. Please be aware that due to the high volume of applications being processed by
the Graduate School of Arts and Science Admissions Office, you may receive official notification from them within weeks or a month. We appreciate your patience during this busy time. This notification does not imply that your application is complete as they will let you know if they need any other documents once they process your application.
One of the documents they will need is a new TOEFL score.
The TOEFL score report that you submitted shows that you did not meet one of the minimum scores required. An Official Score Report of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of at least 84 (internet-based test), 213 (computer-based test) or 550 (paper-based test). The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences requires that the minimum score must be achieved in each section of the internet-based test. Those minimums are: Reading: 21; Listening: 18; Speaking: 23; Writing: 22. There are no exceptions.
*As you have NOT met the minimum TOEFL requirement, a letter is sent notifying the applicants that they have been found academically qualified for admission but official admission will NOT be offered until the TOEFL requirement is met. You need to re-take the TOEFL.
