12.7 Agree or disagree, in order to succeed, you should be more like others than be different from everyone else.

In modern society, virtually all of us want to become eminent, successful, and famous. Only a few of us, however, achieve that goal. Why? The most fundamental reason of that is lacking of creativity and characteristic, which play a tremendous part in both business and academic life. In other words, we should not behave like others.
Anyone can come up with a independent thought always take the high ground. If one dresses like others, speaks like others, thinks like others, he or she will virtually has no independent thought. Thus one can never be eminent. For instance, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, went to a dilemma once he realized the potential of software industry when he was still in college. Any ordinary person would finish their school and then go to business. But he made a different and foresightful decision. Everyone knows what had happened then. So, if one want to be successful, he or she should try to think differently, and act differently.
In addition, nowadays we all stress on the importance of creative. And creativity leads us to more productive lives. When internet was devised, large number of people just want to publish their information, share them with others, no one think about how to search them. However, Andy Bechtolsheim, who designed Google, took his chance. He developed a series of methods can searched and organized information efficiently, and reshaped them years by years. Finally, these Google become a giant in this information age. Think creatively, usually gives people enormous advantages to become successful.
Nevertheless, our behaviors must have something in common with others to make sure our success, like team spirits. That means we can not act too strange, or even weird. A person does not talk to his peers and immerse in his own world hardly becomes successful. Only in this way, we will get along with others, especially our colleges and co-workers.
In conclusion, if we are eager to become successful, we must behave more unique, more creative, and more like ourselves.
