In this argument, the author makes a recommendation that men and women experience pain very differently from each other and that doctors should consider there differences when prescribing pain medications. To support this conclusion, the author cites a survey that when researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids(KO) to 28men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women felt less pain and easy longer than the men. So the KO should be used to the women whenever pain medication and other medicine should be used to men, moreover, all the medicines should be reevaluated. However, the argument is based on the unsubstantiated reasoning and a complete lack of useful evidence.

In the first place, there are many flaws in the survey worthy of being suspected. First, the number of the patients is just 28 men and 20 women, which is too short to sufficiently be representative. Additionally, there is no proof to support that the pain feeling of both women and men is accurate and true. So without more convincing study in the problem, we cannot conclude that the women would be more comfortable than men when facing the same pain from the same ills.

Secondly, even assuming the study is meaningful and persuasive, we cannot claim that the KO should be used to deal with all kinds of pain to the women and men must eat other medicine expect the KO. We should consider the other possible situation, such as whether the medicine is able to cure other kinds of pains, and whether the teeth pain could be enhanced by other medicines.

Finally, even assuming the KO is more suitable and helpful to the women and men should choose other medicine, there is no supporting evidence to reveal the conclusion that all the medications should be reevaluated. We do not know the actual situation about other medication when utilized to different people. So, little indications show that whether all medications should be reevaluated.

In summary, more considerable and sufficient studies should be taken in order to find the answer whether the men and women experience pain differently. And to other medications should also be taken into consideration when researchers want to reevaluate all medications.
