[人类学] 关于 FOLK LITERATRUE 方向 PHD 的一些疑问 [复制链接]

【专业-方向-学科划分-SUB-选校】
请教一下下~ FOLK LITERATURE 的 MA, 想申美国 PHD 的话方向怎么定比较好呢？
个人兴趣还是比较偏向FL 的，美国那边的相关专业方向设置大概是什么状况呢？

首先，因为目前找到的资料只看到有社会学或者人类学的，那么FL 到底是被归到社会学还是人类学方向呢？还是文学？（巨迷茫滴说~ 在国内的学科划分和归属就比较复杂的，US 是怎么一个状况呢？不然进了学校网站都不晓得往哪个DEPARTMENT 里找具体细节呢……）

然后，FL, FOLKLORE, 以及相关的学科比如文化人类学，需不需要考SUB 呢？要的话考哪些呢？有什么特殊要求吗？

第三，曾经有国内民俗学界的大牛说过，到国外学习的话最好是去学习其理论，而非具体研究，那么，倘若从这一角度出发，在US 哪些学校比较值得读呢？

第四，有没有在 CITY OF ATLANTA 的前辈呢？那边有没有合适的相关专业和学校可读呢？

对外汉语的本，偏重语言学
大四在韩国有一个学期的交换经历
教过的学生来自日韩西法美，汉语水平从零起点到高级，从八岁的洋娃娃到年过六旬的老妇，也算惬意
但总觉得仅仅是语言方面的交流与学习太过于单调
而且对外汉的实际教学中所需要的文化方面的知识远胜于语言学理论

于是乎
硕就转了民俗学
导师的主要研究方向是民间文学，所以东亚民间文学也有所涉猎

二三外：韩语、泰语
考虑要不要再学下法语、日语或者越南语……

博呢？
比较中意跨文化方面的
人类学……
目前对于其必须的田野调查异常头痛滴说
东亚研究？……

大家有没有什么好的建议呢？

我的日语几乎为零好不好

虽然日本的民俗做得很好

First of all, you need to understand that plenty of the theories of FL are from anthropology.
Second, the methodology of FL is similar to that of anthropology. In this case, even you want to study FL, a PhD of anthropology can provide you a strong base, not to mention that anthropology is much broader than FL. I have a MA of Folklore and lingustic, I am doing medical anthropology now in the U.S.. The reason I give up folklore is that it is so narrow that it only covers a small part of human culture. But anthropology can take you to study all aspects of human culture.

Moreover, in the U.S., you also can find professors who study FL in anthropology department. The only study center I have known is the folklore study center in Ohio State University. However, I have mentioned that it is a better idea to go to anthropology department to study folklore because when you finish your PhD and want to find a job, it is easier for people who are trained in anthropology to find a job both in teaching and research because anthropology is broader.

About GRE, you need not to take the Sub if you apply for anthropology or FL.

I don't agree with what the famous person said. Anthropology in China has been greatly lagged behind compared with anthropology in the Western World. We need to learn Everything from other countries. What that famous person said is so funny, I want to ask him, without specific study, where is the theory from??? The specific studies and the theories are related, not indpendent from each other.

Currently, I think you have lots of puzzles when you are applying for anthropology Phd program. And it seems you don't know much about both anthropology and the U.S. anthropology education.
