PhD studentand Postdoc Positions in Plant-Nematode-Microbe Interactions at PurdueUniversity Overview: The Plant Nematology Lab at PurdueUniversity (https://ag.purdue.edu/department/btny/labs/zhang/index.html), led by Dr. Lei Zhang, is seekinga Postdoc and a PhD student to join our research team, focusing on basic andtranslational nematology research to develop novel methodologies for effectivenematode management. The projects will primarily focus on root-knot nematodesand soybean cyst nematode. In addition to working on research and publishing high-qualitypapers, the successful candidates will have opportunities for careerdevelopment and networking such as presenting your research at scientificconferences and growers’ meetings. Plant-parasiticnematodes are microscopic soil-borne roundworms. They infect and damage plantroots causing annual crop losses valued at $118 billion worldwide. TheNematology Lab is aimed to enhance understanding of plant resistance tonematodes, plant-nematode-microbe interactions, and nematode biology atmolecular, organismal and population levels. Research results have beenpublished in prestigious journals, including Nature Plants, PLOS Pathogens, Molecular Plant Pathology, Plant Disease. For details, please refer to: https://ag.purdue.edu/department/btny/labs/zhang/research.html Qualifications: Candidates with a strong interest inmolecular plant-nematode-microbe interactions are encouraged to apply. Priorresearch experience in plant-parasitic nematodes is preferred but NOT required. The successful applicant will have opportunities to be trained to conductresearch on different aspects of plant nematology. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with thequalifications of the candidate. How to apply: Candidates should email a CV and acover letter thatsummarizes research interests to Dr. Lei Zhang (leizhang@purdue.edu).
