17"There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
Detailed outline
First of all, let us clarify the concept of just and unjust laws. Laws, now that published and implemented, must be just for certain social group in some aspect. What is deemed as unjust laws are just those unacceptable for the individual, so I would rather use the words “acceptable ”and “unacceptable” in place of “just” and ”unjust” for the purpose of accuracy and clarification.

Then, should individuals obey only acceptable laws and they are obliged to disobey and resist unacceptable laws? This issue should be discussed on a case-to-case foundation.

There are mainly two questions to consider when conducting the case-to-case analysis: what kind of society is the individual in? and what is the individual’s aim in that society? Is the society liberal and democratic or arbitrary reigned by a dictator? Is the individual just a common people satisfied with guarantee his survival, or a responsible citizen pursuing common well fare for the society, or an active politician aiming at campaigning for power? (analysis about all cases)

As discussed above, based on the fact that the law only reflects the interest of certain social groups, the issue whether a law is just or unjust is nothing but perception of the individual as acceptable or unacceptable. As a normal and legal citizen has free will, it is totally up to himself to decide how to treat the acceptable and unacceptable laws according to the social situation and his purpose in the society as well as his values. In one word, the speaker’s contention is over-simplified.

欧洲生物统计比较

本人计划2025spring去欧洲读生物统计硕士，目前在准备这两个项目的申请：莱顿大学的Statistics & Data Science，瑞士的苏黎世大学Biostatistics。计划以后在欧洲的药企做统计师，如果硕士找不到工作，可以考虑继续读生物统计的博士。有移民打算。苏黎世的项目一年半，可以选一个30学分的辅修，学费很便宜，一年才几百法郎，但生活费比较贵，而且难留下来。莱顿的项目两年，学费比较贵，一年要21000欧左右，但比瑞士好润。
