ISSUE 121
   "At various times in the geological past, many species have become extinct as a result of natural, rather than human, processes. Thus, there is no justification for society to make extraordinary efforts, especially at a great cost in money and jobs, to save endangered species."

   Is there no justification to make extraodinary efforts,especially at a cost in money and jobs,to save endangered species?Absolutely the answer is no.Those species are our human's friends.We have no excuses to see they are in danger of extinction without help,based upon which I strongly disagree with the author's assertion that it is costly to save those endangered species.
   Turning to my first point is that it is worthy to save those lives.Since the first appearence in this world,species such as,animals,plants,were our companions.Not only that,during the development of the human's society,they are just playing extremely important role in our lives.For instance,horses,who are the representation of honest and hard-working,afford our transportations in almost every corner in the world.In the period when there was no vehicles,horses were the main tools for transportation both used in the daily life and in the wars.The dogs,a kind of moderate but honest animals,provide us with numerous joys and safety,which may not be provided by any kind of other animals.Moreover,sheep and cows give us the meat and milk which is our necessities in our daily life.Consider that if all those animals are in danger ,how will our life become?
   Turning to my second point is that we, humans,have the obligation to save those endangered species.Yet,I have to admit that in the geological past ,some species are in extinction mainly because the natural selection,which means if they are not suitable to the situations in the world,they would not be able to survive.However,when the human's prosperity is coming,everything changes.In order to build mansions,we cut a large area of ancient forests and consequently destroy the ecological environment there,various kinds of animals and plants lose their nests,caves,and nutritions;we dump polluted water into streams,rivers,seas and as a result make millions of fish poisoned to death,including those very sparse species.So,we should in no doubt stop all that actions but save these species as possible as we can,even though paying the large amount of money and jobs.
   Turning to my third point is that the planet we lived is not only belonged to the humans only,the species of animals and plants should have their own space to thrive and reproduce.Both in morality and justification do we humans should give our hands to them.We need animals to guard our house,to plot the farm field;we need plants to absorb carbon dioxide to reduce the risk of global warming.Our goal should be building a harmonious earth both for our humans and for animals or plants,we must live in peace.
   In conclusion,I disagree the author's assertion that there is no justification to make extraodinary efforts,especially at a cost in money and jobs,to save endangered species.In my  opinion,considering the help those species offer to us,and the goal to build a harmonious earth and support the ecological balance,we have no excuse and worries to hide our hands back to us but provide all what we can do to protect and save the endangered species.
