Issue131 :The arts (painting ,music ,literature ,etc) reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society .

I fundamentally agree with the speaker ‘s assertion that the arts reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society .In history ,past and present ,the arts are a important promotion to the development of mankind .For the reason ,the arts do not only play a important role in entertainment ,education etc , more importantly but reveal the otherwise ideas and impulses of a society .
In the beginning ,the function of arts is great in all aspects of society such as entertainment ,education and so forth .For example ,in daily life ,people could listen the popular or classic music when getting off work or being tired to relax ourselves .On the weekend ,seeing a film with whole family is a good idea for people to enjoy themselves after busy work of a week .Besides those ,people also could visited exhibitions of art such as painting ,movie ,literature and so forth .Either at home or on internet ,people could comprehend the excellences of those enduring works of art to enjoy a full and varied cultural life .In addition ,though reading great literatures ,people could learn lots of knowledge and build their character .In a word ,the arts could teach knowledge ,edify oneself and make people ‘s life meaningful ,without the arts ,people would feel unattractive in the day-to-day life.
Admittedly ,the arts also reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society when bringing people pleasure ,knowledge ,etc though people ‘s touch and sight .Painting ,for example ,is the medium in fact that artists represent their happiness ,hope ,even anguish to the public .Vincent Van Gough –Holland famous artist always explained his struggle against madness and comprehension of the spiritual essence of man and nature though his hundreds of masterpieces such as The Potato Eaters ,Sunflowers ,Before and After and so on .When describing a story or expressing feelings ,literature also tends to reflect authors ‘own ideas and impulses from contemporaneous society .<War and Peace> as one of the world ‘s greatest novels is not only concerned with the histories of five aristocratic families but also represents the author-About Leo Tolstoy ‘s own perspective about right and wrong ,good and evil ,beauty and ugliness etc .And it is unquestionable that people would understand the world more deeply after learning the hidden ideas and impulses behind this great novel .In the aspect of music ,consider typical instance of Beethoven ,In his compositions ,dissonance and turmoil are resolved with enthusiasm and rejoicing again and again ,we could understand his confidence and optimism in his personal life from his dynamic musical style .From those examples ,though learning the ideas behind the excellent compositions people would better understand the conditions of present society .The great arts help people know the contemporary society more clearly .
Finally ,it is necessary that people should learn the otherwise ideas and impulses of a society the arts represent .Every art composition could not be achieved without the authors ‘ long and patient effort .Thus people should appreciate and consider these great arts carefully ,only in this way ,the ideas and impulses behind these excellent composition could be understand perfectly ,then to reflect the conditions of present society and make a new and correct understanding .In a word ,that Trying an endeavour to understand the arts is not esteem to the arts but need people know author ‘ideas clearly .
To sum up ,due to mentioned reasons above all ,we should make the final conclusion correctly :while the arts bring entertainment ,knowledge and so on ,they reveal the hidden ideas and impulses of a society .As far as we are concerned ,we should appreciate and consider these arts carefully to learn more knowledge and improve ourselves .
